Had exactly this exchange with my Arsenal supporting mate last night. Okay, they lost, and do look very tentative at the moment. But booing from the home support isn’t going to help. I suspect a lot of it, though, is frustration with Arteta, who seems to shackle his players at key moments.

I can’t ever recall the United home support booing their side off after a dodgy result during a title run in when Ferguson was there.

Seems the issue was the pitch was too dry 😲

Ave said it before and I will say it again. I know City have won a few titles over the last 15 years but most of them Have been won because teams have blown it from very good positions. Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal. It seems to me that fans and especially Arsenal fans seem to get very giddy before Christmas. Fergie once said “it’s squeaky bum Time”. Ave never seen a squeaky bum in December. I just don’t get it with the Arsenal fans. 9 points in front and the team needs a 12th man. What do they get, fans that leave before the end and fans that boo the team that lose. I will sum That up in one word. Entitled. For a team that have won nothing of note for quite some time. They have a feeling of we are entitled to win this. It’s very disrespectful to other teams and fans. Especially Bournemouth yesterday.
I am not saying that City are going to pinch it in any way shape or form. But Arsenal and there fans are doing a very good job of making a one horse race look interesting.

Most of them ?

Are you sure ?

So far this season we have had teams bottling winning the league, bottling trying to get a champions league place and bottling staying up.

It’s either a very competitive league where every team can beat any other or we need to stop being so harsh on teams.

And that is my mate’s beef with Arteta. He is very, very conservative given the players he has at his disposal, and should be driving home this advantage, not seeking simply to protect it.

Agreed. In previous seasons their downfall has been performances against rivals for the title. Set up not to lose. Their squad is very, very strong but the manager is the weakness (imho).

I think your last sentence sums it up perfectly. And surely as fans that’s what we want. 👍

I called it that Spurs would lose and Forest would get some sort of result. The next round of fixtures is so important and both ends of the table.

Forest V Burnley - I see Forest winning
Spurs v Brighton - That’s a a draw at best for Tottenham.
Palace v West Ham - Think that’s got draw all over it.
So by next Sunday Spurs could be as much as 5 points adrift of all results don’t go their way.

Man City v Arsenal - Winner of that game looks like the league champion.

Certainly be a good weekend for neutrals.
