That is a strange take on that conversation.

And if Man Utd are 10th or worse in a month or two, it won't just be Roy Keane that is critical of them.

Doesn't matter where Utd finished last season. They won't be treated like a Brentford or Bournemouth, and praised just for staying in the league
Not really it’s just what I watched. Keane always waxes lyrical about how Utd deserve to be higher and how they should be putting teams to the sword. He talks them up still like they deserve to be champions. Sturridge just pointed out based on recent seasons they’re where they deserved to be, but based on today’s performance an improvement can be seen to be ahead.

Nothing strange about it, I don’t support either team that played today so I’m completely impartial and basing it on what I actually watched and heard! Who said anything about praising them for staying in the league !

Roy Keane predicted they'd be 9th. Hardly thinks they deserve to be Champions.

What should he do? Blow smoke up their backsides?

Elliot Anderson is a special talent by the way. If he’s not on the plane to America next summer, my head will officially be on Mars - especially if his seat is occupied by Jordan Henderson.

I like Anderson. Think he can do a bit of everything in the middle of the park.
The sort of player who Tuchel should be having a good look at and given a place in the squad for friendlies and qualification matches to see him up close.
Unfortunately I cant see him getting a call though.
Would be a great player for Newcastle in a position I think they are a bit light on,another example of how the PSR just doesn’t work.

Good to see that the Referees 'promise' to crack down on holding at set pieces has been acted upon by defenders. Obviously there was no holding at any match as I can't see any mention of any penalties being awarded.
Also, the new 8 second rule for keepers must be working as well as no mention of any corners being given.

Or the truth, nothing has changed despite the press releases ;)

I did see a game at the weekend where the keeper held the ball too long and a corner was given. It was timed at 14 seconds though.
So that’s the 1 time this season it will be used we can all forget about it now

That’s actually a load of old rubbish, Keane is very very harsh on Utd and mostly says it as it is. I think your dislike of Utd and him is colouring your opinion.

Now Carragher and Neville is a different story re their teams.

Made me smile yesterday when the Utd centre forward that came on ( Maguire) was claiming a penalty after going down in the box. He was holding the defenders shirt as much as the defender was holding his.
My grief is that these “ new rules” come in and are maybe acted upon for a week then all goes quiet.Which then once more brings up the consistency arguement. The 1 metre rule springs to mind.
What made me smile yesterday. During a game (cannot remember which one).A team had a free kick on the edge of the box, the ref put the 10 yard marker line down. He then proceeds to put a smaller line down for the 1 metre for an attacker not to approach. Why? If the players are that thick that they do not know the rules just blow the whistle. Will the reds now do a 1 metre line in future. No. It beggars belief.

I think you’re confused into thinking I dislike Utd! I’ve stated many times I’m neutral I don’t support a premier league team! I genuinely don’t dislike Utd at all! I think they deserved to win the game and were the better team offensively.

I can’t stand Carragher either, Neville doesn’t bother me either way. But I can guarantee you I don’t have any hate or dislike for Utd or in fact any other Premier league team!

I’m entitled to my opinion on what I see and hear from Keane though. Enjoy your day mate I’m happy with my opinion and I’ll stick to it 👌

Everyone has an opinion, doesn't make it right though, there are people out there that think the world is flat. Keane is very anti utd, I don't see how you think he isn't. Last night he was not defending Utd at all, he said at the end oif the day they lost and got nothing. I heard very little supporting them and until they actually deliver in results and performance I don't think he will.

NOPw that Liverpool idiot Sturridge just loves to get in there and wind up, you could see his little glaces over and as a Liverpool player again you take his reaction to Keane with a pinch of salt. Of course your oppinion may vary here.

A great example of all that is wrong with PSR. Good to see him doing well at Forest 👍

Thoroughly agree with the statements you've both given re: PSR. Howe and the Newcastle fans didn't want him to leave and PSR was the only reason they did. We were the beneficiaries on this occasion but we've had to do similar before (Johnson) and will doubtless have to in the future. Whole thing stinks.

We call him the Geordie Maradonna and deservedly so. I think he'll get better and better and I shall enjoy him while we have him, which won't be forever.

Re the bit in bold, I'm actually optimistic about his chances. Apparently Tuchel talked about his admiration for him in a press conference, despite not even being asked about him. I actually think he's got a better chance of getting more England minutes than MGW, due to the competition MGW has for the role he plays.

Tuchel's recent decisions do chip away at my optimism though.

Exactly my point everyone entitled to an opinion I just found it odd you instantly pointed it toward be being anti Utd when I’ve never said anything of the sort instead of acknowledging like you have here were all entitled to opinions 🤷🏻

I never said my opinion was right or that it was fact, it’s just exactly what it is my opinion and one I’ll stick to as you are entitled to yours 👌

I think the majority of Pundits on sky at moment are terrible and often biased it’s why half the time I switch off soon as they come on. Sturridge is a wanna be play boy all about image and staying relevant. But imo last night he was right “for once”

I found myself agreeing with Sturridge last night and thought Keane could have been more balanced. If you look at the match in isolation then it's a horrible result to lose at home, to Arsenal in the first game of the season and there shouldn't be any excuses made by United for failure etc.

However, if you look at the match through the lens of what happened last season then you cannot help but be optimistic that this season will be a vast improvement over last. On another day we might have won, could have had a penalty and overall it was a much, much better performance. If we continue to that level throughout the rest of the season then we're going to move in the right direction (league wise) and with less games to play a European spot isn't out of the question.

The big issue, that hasn't been addressed, is that our GK is still going to cost us points (yesterday would have been a draw) and we are light in the midfield. I wonder whether after yesterday those two positions have been highlighted even more (especially the keeper) and player(s) will be brought in?

The idiot who abused the Bournemouth player has been banned from all stadiums for life.
Great to see the player come out and thank players and officials from both sides for their support.
If when idiots like this get called out and the player can honestly thank both teams and officials then a negative can be turned into a positive hopefully it will help stop it happening again.

Looks like Sancho has rejected yet another move, this time to Roma. It's absolutely obvious now that his game plan is to simply sit it out, he doesn't want to move as he knows he can sign a pre-contract in January on bumper wages as there won't be a transfer fee to pay. He embodies everything that is wrong in football but also highlights how poorly United were at transfers by chucking huge contracts at players with seemingly very little thought for the future. You can hate Sancho as much as you want (and I do) but this is entirely of United's own doing.
