Southgate to be knighted

I’m surprised and not surprised in equal measure.

Surprised because I remain firmly of the view that England should have won major tournaments under Southgate and they failed to do so because of his conservatism.

And yet the honour is predictable because there are so many who will regard England’s repeated appearances in finals and semifinals as success. Whilst I agree to an extent, that success is overshadowed by the failure to take the step up and actually win something.

Yes should be measured on their feet imo.
It would make it so much easier....no messing about drawing vertical lines to figure out the point on the ground where someones armpit might be in relation to someone elses knee. Give VAR no more than 20 seconds to review an incident and then another 10 seconds to push a button saying goal/no-goal. If they dont push the button in 10 seconds then the on-field decision stands. If they cant do alll of this in a total of 30 seconds then it is not clear and obvious whether the onfield ref has made a mistake.

It really is that easy.

I agree with Nick.

Yes. 100%

Against wolves kudus scored 2 offside goals. The first as soon as the reply went you could see clearly it was offside. Not even close

They took like 2 mins to sort

Do not know whether it has already been commented on and if so apologies.

Wolves player Cunha 'removing glasses' of Ipswich Official at the end of the game yesterday

Appalled. Surely a ban.

So watched MOTD this morning

Fulham game was certainly exciting and great to see Jota back

But the ref

The tackle on Robbo by Diop - late and studs on the knee - how isn’t that a red

Then the studs on the back on Gravs Achilles - again a red

Robbo sending off - when I saw all the clips it looked cut and dry a red

But I thought the rule was “Denying a clear goal scoring opportunity” - Wilson wasn’t getting to the ball , Jiminez was and he had a shot - so they had a clear goal scoring opportunity 🤷‍♂️ - so why a red but can see why the ref gave it

Overall with 10 men it was a great game and good point

Rather annoying that the guy who scored the first prob should have been off

Robbo clearly not great after the tackle and prob should have been subbed before
I'm looking forward to ref watch in regards to the above. It will be interesting to hear it talked through .
One of the issues is , was advantage played or not ? I didn't see the ref signal advantage but there did seem to be a long time to see what the outcome was . If the Fulham player had scored . Then we probably wouldn't be having this conversation.

Who do you think would want the job ? Or who would you like to get that is available?

Plenty available that would sort us out, Moyes, Potter, Conceicao.

Unfortunately, I think they've sounded most of those out and they won't work with our structure, no spending etc.

So we'll end up with another O'Neil.

Hopefully I'm wrong.

He didn’t blow his whistle until VVD cleared the ball and he was watching the play develop

Surely it should be against any part of the body that you can use to score a goal from?
It’s called Football! 😉

Standardise it so the striker can have a peek around the defender without his shirt sleeve being offside.
If it’s taken from players feet then I think it would stop a lot of good goals being chalked off.

Just my opinion.

Yes there was no way Wilson was getting the ball. It’s a grey area.

Just to say ,watched the game this morning and have to comment on how good Fulham were.
They got their tactics spot on .
Liverpool were stretched down the right and sone awful defending from TAA and Quansha .
They need to do more to stop them crosses.

Jota showing Nunez how to finish as well don’t just slash it at the keeper.
