To be fair to him, as a fan that is all you can ask and most of what you want. Fans will love him because they see him giving everything. If it isn't coming off, they will forgive him, to an extent. Not putting the effort in , cardinal sin.

As you say, no problem with work ethic, he just isn't up to it at that level.
Your right as long as we’re winning games where he missing chances.

The trouble starts when and if we lose a few games where he misses chances and really should have won.

Onana reminds me of Gomes, if you can remember him at Spurs. Gomes was capable of making some of the most world class saves you'll ever see. He could throw the ball as far as most goalies could kick it, which was really useful in launching a counter attack, so his distribution was good. Unfortunately he would also chuck in an absolutely comical blunder every few weeks as well. Onana seems to be similar.

In regards Onana he seems your standard solid GK , looks a very good shot stopper but will have the error there

Wouldn’t put him in the top level of GKs

Certainly better than the 8 Gks Chelsea have 😁

You have got to love the World Cup Selection process. Because matches at the next world cup (or could be the one after) are being played on several continents, that immediately disqualifies them from hosting in 2034. Only countries from Asia and Oceania could bid and unsurprisingly Saudi have gone forward unopposed.

I noticed the live updates today on BBC breaking news, Saudi Arabia to be confirmed 2034 hosts and Spain, Portugal and Morocco to be confirmed as 2030 hosts, with first 3 matches in South America

Is this news? I thought all of this was confirmed over a year ago? Have I entered a worm hole and gone back in time?

It was clearly fixed for Saudi

FIFA announced the bidding opening suddenly and anyone wanting to bid had 28 days to sort it out despite it being 11 years away

Shock horror Saudis bid was already sorted. Australia wanted to but clearly not enough time to sort it out

It’s a complete farce but not a surprise

I think it was all agreed a year ago but this is the formal confirmation of their winning bids. Looks like we now have a decade of people associated with the sport complaining about the Saudi world cup then all still turning up bright and early on day one of the tournament to be involved and get paid.

And fans moaning and complaining about it, and then clearing their diary for a month in 2024 so they can sit down and watch as many games as they can :ROFLMAO:

@AmandaJR @Tashyboy Do you rate Doku?
Obviously anyone else free to comment.
Personally I think he’s 💩.
Decent at beating his man,but then 🤯
I've seen him in small doses. Looks powerful and dangerous. But, more I see him, I wonder if he is more of a Adama Traore or Saint Maxim type guy. Capable of really exciting and dangerous moments, but really frustrating and inconsistent. Perhaps good in a weaker side who are built around him, but less useful in a well oiled team.

Been meaning to ask this since the weekend - Man U fans, what are your thoughts on Andre Onana overall? How is he viewed by the fanbase?

As an outsider looking in, he seems like a bit of a calamity - especially when you consider his price tag. Against Forest he gifted us the second goal and arguably could have done much better on the other two. Then at the end he farcically wasted an entire Fergie Minute by trying to S-house an extra few yards of ground on a free-kick, which he ended up making a complete pig's ear of.

However, I'm aware that was just a single performance and I don't watch him week in, week out. Any player can have a mare of a game. What are your views on him? Is he worth the £43 million you paid for him?
When you buy someone new he's got to be better than what is already there or the potential to be.
Is Onana any better than de Gea or looking likely to? I personally think not.
