Glad to hear shearer correct the rubbish from the ipswich manager... apparently we played "direct to soucek and antonio" all game.. funny how the last goal was about a 6 pass team goal and plenty of our 13 shots on target came from good link up play within the team

very bitter comments and good to see shearer say he didnt agree with them at all.

watching some of the chances back aswell its amazing we only scored 4.. some tighter finishing and that could have been 5 or 6

I watched the game live. Ipswich were pretty shocking. Why poor teams persist with playing the ball out from the back is beyond me. I read/heard an opinion that the managers are doing it to enhance their own career prospects rather than to maximise the potential of the team. Hence Burnley are down and VK is (currently) coaching BM. Seems at least slightly plausible.

Having said that, Ipswich's fate will probably be determined by how they do at home and against teams even worse than West Ham. West Ham's season will be judged on how they perform against much better teams than Ipswich. So, in a way, and amusing as it was, I'm not sure that yesterday changed much for either team.

What?..we absolutely flogged the team that drew with the team that beat the team that have won numerous European titles…

…so by my logic 😆

Me too. I think its a penalty.

Apparently they didn’t give it because it didn’t affect the play as they said he wasn’t getting to the ball anyway 🤷‍♂️ really strange

The inconsistency is awful

Every game you see defenders going all over forwards and VAR ignore it - yet in the Brentford Wolves game they did

Only in the Prem can VaR and the refs get worse each season

Watching MOTD this morning and Traore should have had a hat trick and Fulham would have been more than worthy of getting something out of the game

City did look a lot more open than usual - maybe that’s a gap being created by Rodri missing

Then Sky super Sunday matchday talking about title challenges etc and still just focussing on City and Arsenal

because refs don't give pens when players stay on their feet. it's a clear foul - every Liverpool fan on the forum has agreed. terrible decision and Virgil is a lucky boy.
Makes me laugh.
If that was Salah he’d be getting stick for diving with only a slight tug!
It’s a pen imo but shows how bad VAR is if the ref hasn’t got a clear view.
Every “ foul” in the six yard box has an impact, he wasn’t getting the ball but he might have caused Allison to make a mistake , we will never know.
Just very poor officiating and it happens every week.

I have noticed lately though in the PL that defenders are better divers than strikers.
A striker only has to put a hand on a defender shielding a ball by the line and over they go refs fall for it most of the time.

So palace don’t get a penalty & the first thing you do is play the 🎻.
Unbelievable Jeff 🤦‍♂️

Diving has ruined the game, the pull back was enough to award a penalty. Maybe the VAR has looked at it and thought its a foul but he has exaggerated the contact and fell to the floor. They got away with one though, it happens most in games.

Very confused to see Evans and Maguire starting against Villa, very surprised.
I'm not looking forward to this.

I have The Dunhill Links as back-up!

I remember a ref in kids footy saying to a manager.

“ I will give you a chance to sub a kid who was a horrible little so and so or I’ll send him off“

But didn’t think that happened in the PL😳
