I think you need to check the stats, 1 or 2 mistakes has been blown out of all proportion.
First and foremost he’s a Right Back.
Stats can tell you anything.
He plays in the right back position but he’s much more than that.
Liverpools right CB covers him so he can go forward and cause trouble.
It’s one of the reasons he looks out of position a lot when we face a counter attack but that’s how he was asked to play by Klopp.
Like most players these days they have to be good at more than one position some can some can’t.
TAA is one of the best at it imo. 👍

Will get Trent to unlock it with a 30 yard defence splitting bomb 😉😁
Tbh he gave the ball away a bit second half.
I just hope the manager has finally seen how Klopp used him.

We just need a CF who runs in behind now not one who is standing next to Rice plays a ball to Saka and there’s nobody in the box then.

It’s not just Trent - it’s modern fullbacks

The top teams have fullbacks that have a licence to go forward , overlapping and providing support , it needs quick strong CB’s to provide the cover. It’s why TAA has been given stick for his defending - but it’s because 9/10 he is high because the manager wants him high, he has though on occasions switched off to what’s over his right shoulder at times

What England need to decide is how the front 3 work - a false 9 dropping deep to then allow the wide players to take up the space and get a significant amount of the goals , or have a high forward to then have the wide players supplying the forwards

What seems to happen is Kane drops deep into that false 9 but the wide players then stay wide and don’t drop into the space

Obviously it can’t just be Trent,no negatives towards Trent 🙄😂

All right backs going forward are covered by team mates, it’s the modern way, but he’s still a right back.

They haven’t invented a new position just for TAA and no team is built around giving him a free role.

Arise sir jarrod of Bowen

Forced 2 saves in his limited 10 mins on the pitch
And dropped deep at times looking for the ball.
Just like Kane does, it then allows the wide men to run in to the central position, Gordon did it very well in the 1st half.
