I'm not sure where this theory is coming from.

In the media (and I've obviously not heard everyone's opinion), I've only heard Martin Keown suggest Spurs will roll over for City, as they'll not want Arsenal to win the league, when he was on Talksport. Talksport have since kept sharing his opinion every day to their guests, and it seems pretty much every person disagrees with Keown. At least in terms of the players and manager. But, Keown is an idiot, and all he is doing is looking for excuses in case Arsenal don't win the league.

I'd rather City didn't win the league as a Man Utd fan, but I sure as heck wanted to beat Arsenal last weekend, and was disappointed with the loss. My view is that you surely always want your team to win each game, and what will be will be in terms of how other teams do.
This 👍
I was thinking before the weekends game would Utd do city a favour and beat Arsenal. Would spurs do Arsenal a favour and beat City. The bottom line is surely you want your team to win. The league should be decided by your own hands and not others. Especially your Derby rivals.

Not sure there are too many teams that have/would deliberately throw a game, especially in the modern era. City will be too good anyway so whatever Spurs lose by there will be the accusations of a chuck. They mullered us and never got out of 2nd gear

A lot of the reaction has come from fans “phoning in” and there are some Spurs fans that don’t want Arsenal to win the league and would rather City win so that they don’t have to put up with Arsenal fans going on about winning the title - that’s just the way some fans think

Even Arsenal fans are saying they would think the same in the situation

And for some they are now numb to City winning the title so it doesn’t really matter to many

But the rivalry between Spurs and Arsenal is at that level where they are just as happy watching each other fail as opposed to winning

Yeah, idiot pundits like Keown bringing it up - O'Hara is another one I saw via Facebook this morning. Apparently someone (Talksport?) did a vote and 54% of Spurs fan say they want to lose the game; however it obviously could be complete balderdash with non-fans voting and whatnot. I just keep seeing it brought it up and it annoyed me.

Agreed, I'd prefer City win the league as I have less dislike of them than Arsenal or Liverpool. But if Arsenal win it, fair play. They have plenty of players I like, such as Saka, Rice, Odegaard, Saliba. I just hate their manager most of all, a disgusting weasel of a man.
I am really surprised at how he has turned out at Arsenal. He really has turned out to be an unlikeable character and that’s putting it nicely. Yet when he was Peps assistant he was Bob on. Don’t know where he has got his pitchside personality from but he never learned it off Pep.

Remember when Man Utd needed to win their last game of the season, and Liverpool take points off Blackburn, to win the title?

Liverpool fans certainly wouldn't want Man Utd to win the league, but it didn't stop them beating Blackburn at Anfield. Liverpool did their job, but Man Utd didn't, as they couldn't beat West Ham.

Probably a perfect outcome that day for Liverpool, win the match AND Man Utd didn't win the league. However, had Man Utd won the league, I'm pretty sure the fans would have celebrated Redknapp's last minute free-kick winner. And the Liverpool players would have certainly tried to win the match. I can imagine a team of athletes who would intentionally play half heartedly so that they lose????? They are competitive individuals.

Has he calmed down this season though?

I suspect they will go straight from the Emirates to Heathrow, getting the first flight to Dubai, Portugal, Spain (wherever they go nowadays). Instead of walking into the Emirates with just their washbags, they will be walking in with full suitcases on Sunday 😄 . I think Sunday might get messy 🙈
I thought in an attempt to keep the Financial Fair Play bods happy it was going to be 7 days in the Clubs caravan at Newbiggin this year?

If he has it will help his team
More. If he loses his rag he can hardly tell his team to calm down.
How come it’s OK for other managers to misbehave and not Arteta? Did you see Emery last night?

I’ve no issue with any manager showing passion like the top ones do!

That's where our pre-season will be. Caravans at Newbiggin, friendlies against Blyth Spartans and Alnwick Town 😂 . They haven't told the players yet, we want the new loanees all signed up before they break the news to them :ROFLMAO:

We have been to far flung places like Lithuania or played Austrian B and C sides before. The equivalent of a PL side playing the Dog and Duck

To be fair, a pre-season in Europe makes way more sense than going to the Far East, the US etc. Dodgy opposition aside, the reduced travel makes playing, if not financial, sense.

Got to be honest we use to love going. A few days in a remote back water, usually in sunny warm conditions and a chance to see a few sights, enjoy the local food and especially drink and most of the home fans were really pleased to see someone prepared to come all that way to see their team play Fulham

The problem is the Prem selling the media rights for “big” money to the far east , Aus , Middle East , US etc so the teams are expected to pop there for pre season events

Think most still have the first and last pre season game locally or at least in Europe

We had Mitrovic who was the same and would stand and watch. At least Silva has our forwards now trying to hassle the opposition even if they are never going to go flying in. We all know sometimes a bit of pressure fries a defenders brain and they make errors. It is a necessary part of the game for me. I think the fact Salah is behind the likes of Watkins and Solanke in the PL goalscorers this season shows that there are younger players able to cut it. Would Isak be a good fit as Newcastle are rumoured to may be open to offers.
Bowen would be my choice.
But West Ham fans don’t agree😳😳

Salah is a very good player but often gets mom for scoring a worldie but having missed two sitters and done nothing for 85 mins.
He shoots when he should pass and passes when he should shoot.
Just my opinion I have always thought this.!

We need a proper good finishing striker.
Nunez is a slasher scores good goals but not a clinical finisher.
Jotta seems to be made of glass.

But good finishers are rare and expensive!
