Nope I don’t know a city fan that has the arrogance of other clubs fans that they expect success. In fact most fans I know are in the category of “ I cannot believe it”.
I'll be completely honest here. If Man City win the league, I doubt any City fan said "I can't believe it". If they did, they are either fools or just woke up from a decade long coma.

Whereas if Man Utd had won the league, most United fans would be both delighted and shocked. I think most of us were pleasantly surprised to just finish 3rd last year.

Trust me, if it runs to the wire and we win it...we will indeed think "I can't believe it". Scars run VERY deep and City simply have too much history of being what is now called Spursey :-)

I for one have gone on record today and said we are second. Ave gone on record today and said “ I hope we win it for a fourth time “. The word is hope not expect. As I have said today. Liverpool and Arsenal have blown titles when leading from the front by a fair old margin. Not one City fan expected on those occasions. We were as shocked as if Utd win it this year. We came from behind to beat Villa last game of the season. Same with the Aguerroooooooo game. No one expected only hoped.

Everyone is expecting City to win the league and the CL - if anyone else wins either trophy it will be a shock , they have the best squad

Guys, I’ve seen various fans have gentle digs at each other week after week. We now have 3 reports in over what I see as typical banter between fans.
How many times do we see comments about different fans living x miles away from the clubs they support, Utd being a prime example?
Those of you who are being precious are more than welcome to escalate it if you feel your report isn’t receiving enough consideration.

In that sense, does any fan "expect" to win it? As a Utd fan, there were obviously times I thought we had a great chance. But never ever expected it. We had so many tough battles with Arsenal and Chelsea for example. Didn't expect to beat Newcastle when they were miles ahead. And we couldn't win it against Blackburn, even though beating West Ham in last game would have done it.

Plenty of occasions things go against your club, even when many consider you best. So, like you with City now, I can imagine any realistic United or Liverpool fans ever expected a win.

Whereas going back to an earlier chat, when Rangers got kicked out of SPL, I'm sure many Celtic fans expected to win the league.

No fan “expects” to win trophies but there is an expectation to challenge at a level - Liverpool , Utd fans and recently Chelsea and Arsenal have expected to see their team challenge for the biggest trophies

Nope lol, been criticised many times for being too negative, especially last year. Emotional hedge in backing City at least helped haha

Toney looking like it’s huge that he is back for Brentford and also Jensen - should be a hugely different second half of the season for Brentford

get them Rico Henry back and theyd look like their oldselves again.........

at least when Wissa and Mbuemo are back for Maupay and Lewis Potter

Like many sides, the best XI is very decent but dont have the depth to cover missing their best 4 or 5 players at once

Henry was a player that I thought would be going soon , Mbuemo is someone that’s always created us problems

In other news - this could be a big move

Not if Blackburn had won also on the same day!
I'm aware of that. But they didn't. And as match was being played I knew a win was looking like it would do it, as I watched Andy Cole and the rest missing chance after chance.
