Did you read my first line? It seems not.

And why are you comparing apples and oranges? Football is a profession where teams literally hire excess workers to cover for eventualities like this.
So you’re saying they should off bought more players in the summer for the eventuality that they lose half their players to injury, alright then.

I’m saying that the richest team in the world should have an outstanding 25 man squad supplemented with excellent U21 players.

Ok now let’s focus on your second sentence and we’re so close to hitting this nail on the head.

They've only had money for 2 years and FFP restricts how quickly they can spend that. There was no depth previously, it will take time to build that up. They can't do a Chelsea or a City, the rules prevent that now. The squad is better than it was, by a long way, but it still has a way to go before they can really cope with the workload of a successful team.

In terms of the U21, the academy at Newcastle was poor for many years, the best players up here all went to Sunderland. That's changing I believe but again, that will take time. They could simply go out, like the big boys, and scoop up the best kids from around the world but so far they haven't done that. They will be adding some, but in 2 years only.........., the first of which was spent avoiding relegation.

You are expecting way too much, too soon from Newcastle. They are ahead of where they hoped to be and these mini setbacks are bound to happen.

2 observations:
1. Why are The Press always looking to knock Managers especially ETH who I have no allegiance to, perhaps Klopp and Pep to a lesser extent.

2. Why are there so many rumours about Managers leaving? The Sheff Utd. manager was still around but Chris Wilder had already been lined up by all accounts. Similar with Steve Cooper. the guy shows total commitment @Forest, got them promoted, gone through a poor period but outside bottom 3. Sure in his case it is down to the owner thinking they can punch above their weight and should be at least be in The Europa League. If Forest finished 17th for the next 10 seasons the fans would be ecstatic.

Realise they both have had disappointing runs but there does not seem to be any confidentiality.

That Romero challenge wasn't too different to the one where he was sent off v Chelsea. 🤷
I thought that. Whether you think they're both yellows or both reds - they were both pretty much the same. No consistency.

Most annoying is why in God's name is he making that challenge at 3-0 up? If he cops another three match ban and we're back to Royal at centre back, the manager and the fans are absolutely fuming. Hope he got a huge bollocking from Ange.

Their net spend of circa £400m under PIF shows that everything you’ve just said is nonsense.

Personally I’m happy to watch the human filth that are their owners fail at times like this. It won’t last long as money usually floats in football but these little victories against them are sweet.

You should be allowed to make a genuine, safe attempt to make a tackle, and not fear a yellow if the attacker ends up being a bit too quick for you.

If not, best sub every defensive player on a yellow. No point on them being on the pitch if they can't make a tackle
I agree to a certain extent, Ayew stopped a promising attack though so I can see why he was booked, but refereeing in the PL at the minute is diabolical. Jota was sent off against Spurs for two yellows and he didn't actually make contact with either player in either of the challenges, the first one the Spurs player tripped himself up!
The farce of playing on for 2 minutes and then giving Palace a penalty yesterday is another example of the game being re-refereed by VAR, exactly the same thing happened to Jesus in the Arsenal game, no penalty.

Just seen the “ foul” throw by Bernado that Pep was moaning about. The clip I saw, and there may be other angles it looked perfect. Sweet Jesus, if you was to teach a child the basics of taking a throw. You would use that clip of Bernado. How a ref can blow for a foul throw on that is astonishing.

What is even more astounding, is a manager who gets so worked up about a decision to give a foul throw in the game. There were also reports that he was also arguing that the ref gave more injury time than he said he would, hence the equaliser. And then it was pointed out to him the goal was actually scored just within the additional time the ref said he'd give.

Always though Pep was generally quite a calm manager, although perhaps that is because he is always doing well. Lately he seems to be losing his mind a little, I just hope he doesn't become like the clownlike Klopp (although in a way, I suppose I do as that would be a sign that his team are not doing well)

The Net spend under the new regime is £255m, give or take a few quid. £55m of that is on a lad they can't use for 12 months due to a betting suspension.

Effectively then, £200m to get a team equivalent to Sheff Utd right now, into the CL, cup later stages, final last year, QF this year so far, and upper echelons of the league with plenty of games to go. All of this whilst having a minor blip with 10 out of 25 players out. You think that is nonsense, 🤣 🤣 🤣

Your second paragraph is giving you away. If you dislike Newcastle because of their owners, that is one thing. Criticising them for not having a stellar squad after 2 years of FFP restricted investment.............
