Footballers aren't running continually for 90 (or 100) minutes. They barely run for half that so any notion that they may be extra tired in the 10 added minutes is rubbish. They get plenty of rest during the week and big clubs have big enough squads and loads of substitutes so maybe managers should get a bit cleverer when using subs instead of leaving it to added time to try and waste a bit more time. The players also wear the tech to monitor their fatigue so the coaching staff should know when they get fatigued.
So you say it’s rubbish that they’ll get more tired by playing an extra ten minutes but then go on to say the managers should use their subs more effectively and use the available technology to help.

So which is it? Will they not get more tired or will they need to adapt?

I think some people have a notion that footballers play one or two games a week and nothing else happens during their week that could put strain on their body.
I think it was Rooney who was asked about too many games and he said he rather plays than practices.

Regarding the player fitness issue - we're only talking about 5 or 6 minutes added onto what they normally play aren't we?? Players now are fitter than at any point in history. If Tony Adams and Paul Merson could play 93 minutes after a night on the sauce, I think today's players can manage 100 minutes.

Lauren James should’ve walked there. She probably should’ve had a free kick but can’t react like that.

Oh looks like VAR has sorted it…

James has been a revelation but how often does that player then try too hard, get frustrated, and lose it...

We've been poor. Is Walsh really fit?

Have we been poor, or have they been good?
It'll be interesting to see how the rest of the tournament plays out, but it feels like a bit of the changing of the guard taking place at the moment.

Fair point. They've won every 1to1 battle on the pitch for sure.
