Remember when Watford loaned half the Udinese team?
Forest Green have just made their Academy coach the caretaker manager after Big Dunc left.
So what, you may think? She is the first female to take charge of a football league team. I hope FGR make her full time and it opens doors for more women to climb the managerial ladder.
Still happening...Marvin Zeegelaar, Gerard Deulofeu, Adam Masina, Seb Prodl, Roberto Peyera, Isaac Success, Fernando Forestieri all on their roster!Remember when Watford loaned half the Udinese team?
I think that is crap. It whiffs of the owner headline-grabbing. Would have been nice to see her given a fair crack but I guess it wasn't to be. Rubbish and a big shame.Seems like this was a bit of a publicity stunt, she has been replaced after just two friendlys. What a shame she never got a fair go at it.

And now the case against Giggs has been dropped. 4 footballers on the trot, lives on hold, World Cups missed, careers messed up and all cleared. As before, I have no great answer to this problem but the current situation is not working.
I wonder if in the next instance, there will be another almost inevitably, whether the player / manager / club decide to keep playing / managing until the trial is over? Are they jumping too early right now?

In the Greenwood case it never actually made it to court, same with the Everton player (he has never been named and whilst it is obvious who it is I am going to follow the others and avoid naming him). Mendy and Giggs have both been cleared so in their cases not guilty does mean innocent, it is exactly what it means.not guilty does not necessarily mean innocence, let's not forget that. Thousands of women are raped/absued every single day, and barely any are convicted due to the fact it's not easy to prove as it's often one word against another.
There is literal evidence of Mason Greenwood abusing his girlfriend. The fact she's run back to him and is caught up in that (now with a kid FFS) should not mean that we should just move on and forget what happened. He shouldn't play football ever again, really.
with the Giggs case, the accuser was suddenly "unwilling to give evidence" so does that make him innocent? In the Greenwood case it never actually made it to court, same with the Everton player (he has never been named and whilst it is obvious who it is I am going to follow the others and avoid naming him). The conviction rates in this area are horrific but equally, if the charges are thrown out or the accused is found not guilty then their lives have been turned upside down as well. It's a mess![]()
Yea, exactly my point.with the Giggs case, the accuser was suddenly "unwilling to give evidence" so does that make him innocent?
It is all we can go off.with the Giggs case, the accuser was suddenly "unwilling to give evidence" so does that make him innocent?
I bet there are thousands of pro footballers who have had unprotected sex with 17 year olds and unprotected sex with multiple people. Not just footballers either.Yea, exactly my point.
I understand the viewpoint with Mendy, but equally, he sounds like a bit of a sexual deviant and not pleasant at all; sex with 17 year olds, unprotected sex with multiple women and not caring about the risks etc...Top bloke really.![]()
According to the judge and law it does, she says not guilty in her summary.with the Giggs case, the accuser was suddenly "unwilling to give evidence" so does that make him innocent?
Yea of course - but he's not shy about abusing his position of fame to get what he wants without worrying about the consequences and boasting that women basically threw themselves at him.I bet there are thousands of pro footballers who have had unprotected sex with 17 year olds and unprotected sex with multiple people. Not just footballers either.

According to the definition of innocent - no. "not guilty of a crime, etc.; not having done something wrong"It's interesting theoretic ground this. If I commit a crime but do not leave enough evidence behind to be prosecuted, does that make me innocent?
But if I HAVE committed a crime. And I KNOW that I have and, potentially, others KNOW it. But the evidence isn't there, am I still innocent of committing a crime?According to the definition of innocent - no. "not guilty of a crime, etc.; not having done something wrong"
