His contract never got torn up just not renewed this year

Free to join another club no loss of money
No loss of money???

They suspended him and stopped paying his salary when he was charged,
He may well still be a very good player, but an awful long way from being match fit, 2 years is a long time in a footballers career and as has been said, he’s missed a World Cup.

The system needs to change

Didn't think he was stopped being paid until he was convinced like greenwood..in that case city will pay him they legally have to

I'm so conflicted about Mendy. Part of me in the "no smoke without fire" camp and one side in the "an innocent guy has been pretty much destroyed career and reputation-wise". It's a complicated situation and I don't know the solution but for sure it needs looking at. If he was guilty and under investigation and his victim had to see him playing, celebrating and enjoying life very publicly whilst the investigation went on...well that would be pretty awful for the them. Not helped because it's taken two years...

Well I never thought we would get £100 million for Declan

Hopefully we spend it wisely now

Between English clubs it's a record fee...

Fair enough. Great record to have lol 😆

Just need to get some replacements in

Barnes , JWP and paulinha are the 3 I want .. if we get them for £130 combined I think that's a good window

I'd say that would massively improve the squad - so thanks Declan!

That's the point I'm trying to make to some west ham fans who think we will suddenly go down without him

Replace him with 2 players to improve the midfield unit and we will be stronger than last season

Strengthen our weaker areas and we suddenly will be fine ..

Scamacca is fit I reckon 10-15 goals from him

Cornet is back

Paquata has settled

I would be more concerned to lose Bowen than rice

Barcelona, think it's more or less getting knocked down for major refit
It certainly is Hogie, having a little rattle with me lad re transfers etc and he mentioned look at Nou Camp being knocked down. 😳
Be interesting to see what it looks like in a couple of years.

Guess it wasn’t going to be long before it starts

PIF owned club buying player from PIF owned club

It shouldn’t be allowed to happen
There are already clubs who have owners who own clubs in other leagues. What happens there? Presumably rules are in place and either impact or not.

If SM goes for £100m you can call dodgy but if it's in line with existing sales then it is no different to other sales that have already happened.

Villa owners own like 30% of another team and have been banned from doing any deals between the two clubs..

Why are Newcastle allowed to break the rule because a shell company owns one and not PIF directly?

Joke.

Presumably the loan market is okay for this, it's purely about actual transfers?

I guess it comes down to the wording but it does seem a pretty big loophole.

Massive fat loophole.

"Until September 2024, the conflicting clubs assessed by the Cfcb are not permitted to transfer or loan players between them, they cannot share scouting networks or players databases and they cannot collaborate on technical or commercial agreements." - taken from https://inews.co.uk/sport/football/brighton-aston-villa-banned-conducting-transfer-business-2463365

I will say though, it appears these are EUFA rules so that's probably how Saudi are bypassing it.

Still farcical and should be FIFA rules.
