It wouldn't surprise me if Sancho was completely destroyed by a full season of coaching under Ole, and then Rangnick. Confidence shot to pieces, and not a quick fix for any decent manager who then comes through the door.Asan Ho is an interesting one, Ave said it before but Foden was slated when Sancho went to Dortmund. Look at what Foden has in the cabinet compared to Sancho.
what I don’t get is managers could not get Sancho to replicate his Dor tune form. I thought Ten Haag would. Would not like Sancho to turn into another Sturridg.
I wouldn't just say Sancho either. I think a lot of the players, who played under Ole for several years, will have damaged to some degree and very difficult to undo that damage fully, at least quickly. For example, I think even if Pep came in and managed United, he'd find it very tough to get the tune he wants out of those players. Whereas, if he had come in 3 years earlier instead of Ole, he would probably be able to get a tune out of them much more quickly.
I still despair and think of what things were like under Ole, after the honeymoon period ended. Honestly no idea what he was trying to achieve tactically, and can only imagine every team talk was him politely saying "attack, attack, attack", without any real clue on how to achieve that collectively.
I didn't see Sancho at Dortmund much, but understand he was at his best on the right? He came to United, and Greenwood was the preferred option on the right, and Rashford on the left. There didn't really seem to be a place for him, and I thought it was a strange signing. Had our primary target been a right-sided midfielder / forward, I would have understood it more.
