Long way to go this season yet, but recent form suggests it could be a tough thread to read for the Liverpool fans
Seriously, don’t get the neutrals fans hopes up.

Joking aside, when City were rammel we got battered. Predominantly by Utd fans.
When Utd were rammel it was like a “ pile on”.
Now Liverpool are struggling, let’s just say the internet vultures are hovering. Still early in the season for me.

Odd seeing City playing with Cherki, Marmoush, Bobb in the team. They have had some bad injuries to keep them out.

More like throw them under the bus. Shocking management in my opinion.

We’ve never played 3 at the back, so choose tonight to do it with a mishmash team. Then go 2 down, bring on 2 kids as centre backs?

I moaned about not understanding the plan at the weekend, this is even more bizarre.
Surely after spending so much money you can field a decent starting 11 so early in the season.
Is the team struggling with injuries ?

Think Palace took their foot off the gas.
A few attacks they made a mess of could have been a lot more.

That was so poor from Liverpool it’s worrying.

Yeremy should have seen red there that’s a disgraceful challenge poor reffing.

Watched the multi screen tonight felt a bit like watching NFL red zone. Liverpool look like a shadow of a team and it’s hard to see what they’re trying to achieve or how they put it right. But Palace look good and well balanced, Newcastle have performed really well, Wolves might as well start prepping for the Championship as they are so open at the back.

Seeing bits of the Arsenal game I’m wondering what all the hype is about around Nwanieri everytime I’ve seen him he just looks average, terrible decision making as doesn’t create anything!

Mind you I am writing all this about Top teams whilst knowing we’ve just employed a new manager that got Rotherham relegated and doesn’t fill me with any confidence that he is the answer to us improving or moving up the table.

you'd have thought so, but the "first team" has lost 17 out of the last 19... or it feels like it!

Allisson, Gravenberch, Frimpong, Isak are injured. he didn't want to risk Mamardashvili so Woodman in goal made sense. Again the same goes for Ekitike up top and (probably) VVD & Konate therefore playing robbo at CB with Gomez.

The rest, frankly, I'd have played. it looked like a team that said "they might pull one off and win, but I don't care if they don't". We know Chiesa won't start at the weekend, even though he's the only player who has any spark atm not named Ekitike.

Most of us in here watch enough football to see what's happening and know when good teams are in bad form or vice versa, or when teams aren't firing but it's individual errors killing 'the plan' but I just can't see what he's asking the players to do right now. tonight or otherwise. I care vastly more about the league and Europe than the league cup but tonight should have been about going out and getting something from the game ahead of 3 very difficult fixtures coming up. feeling like we need 3 wins from Villa, City and Real Madrid is a nasty place to be in when I wouldn't bet on them beating Trumpton 2nds atm!

Slot should personally pay back the money Liverpool fans paid for tickets last night, and their travel expenses. He completely mugged them off.

It's like spending loads on Oasis tickets, then turning up to find Oasis want a rest that night, and have been replaced by Jedward

His excuses are becoming as predictable as they are tiresome.

If you know your squad is thin going into a transfer window, why concentrate on marquee signings? Why not use some of that money to add some depth?

Thought the exact same thing when I heard him roll that one out. He’s started to sound repetitive, predictable and quite lost with some of his answers. It’s like he thinks Liverpool should be getting sympathy and more favourable outcomes.

After his short stay in charge of us I wouldn’t expect too much from him. One of the worst managers we have had - and we have had a few shockers.

Soon as I saw the announcement I thought “well that’s shows great ambition and a waste of money”

We should be challenging for promotion or at least the play offs. With his appointment we’ll be lucky to finish outside the bottom 4! I’m not hopeful at all, though I’d like to be wrong.

At times you do wonder about some clubs transfer policies/ recruitment. And I include City, Utd and Liverpool in that.
City went through a phase where any decent midfielder became available, we went for them. Yet we were desperate in other departments. Has Walker really been replaced.
Again, TAA Leaves, Robertson and VVD past there best and the best part of £200 plus million spent on Wirtz and Isak.
It does make one scratch the head a bit.

It felt odd that Liverpool didnt try a bit harder to secure the Guehi signing. As each day passes, it feels even more bizarre. VVD isnt getting any younger.

Spend loads on a forward like Ekitike, who actually looks really good, and a player you could see in a regular starting line up. Yet continue to pursue Isak, who has become public enemy number 1 and no pre season, for crazy money

All on top of already spending a fortune on Wirtz. No matter how good he is anywhere else, always a big big risk bringing that sort of player into the physicality of the PL, when they are pretty light weight physically. Perhaps worth a punt at £50m to £70m?

I expect Liverpool to go on a decent run sooner or later, but I'm guessing he'll need to find a settled side, and that will leave one or two high value players disappointed

The Liverpool games I have watched this season they have been out worked and out fought by every opponent.
I think losing Diaz has really hurt them, not just in the goals and assists but the work rate he put in every game. Gakpo just seems to jog around without ever putting anyone under pressure.
Nunez despite his faults you could never complain about his effort and work rate.
The team currently looks like they are not up for the battle and teams are pouncing on that and punishing them.
The Liverpool side don’t like it up em and other teams can smell blood at the moment. Needs a Graham Souness in there to sort them out.

Henderson to come in January

Klopp always put reserve teams out in the league cup early rounds. They'll be used to it by now.

You missed Salah out in that summary.

His lack of effort was masked by Diaz and Nunez.

Not bothered by the cup game but it transfers when your losing.

We played well in Europe but Slot then put the players out of form back in the team that Saturday.
I just don’t get that or some of his other decisions like playing players out of position.
