I was on a Spanish golf trip in May this year and had the pleasure of meeting and chatting to Micky Horswill who played for Sunderland in that game.
As a result of that he was bought by Man City and spent the next two years living with George Best!
We bought Dennis Tueart as well , he turned out to be a city legend, Horswill barely played for City if my memory serves me well

Just watched motd. Wow, Fulham were robbed on the King goal. No doubt we will get a worthless apology from Howard Webb later this week.

Some lovely interplay from Everton. Grealish, Ndiaye, Dewsbury Hall playing some lovely stuff together. A million miles away from the clumsy, clunky stuff of recent times.

Yet you talk to any Chelsea fans and they’re insufferable and apparently the King goal was rightly disallowed. Can’t wait for Chelsea to get a good goal ruled out.

Also, Pedro goal was only scored because of the amount of time added on due to the VAR check of the disallowed goal! 🙈

Re VAR incident. It’s just beyond a joke now and everyone says the same every week - it should be there to correct “clear and obvious errors”. Not used a tool to find a tiny, fine-print reason to crucially affect the course of a game. I have no issue with VAR as a concept. It just seems there are absolute clowns in charge of it.

Re your second paragraph. I’ve said it before, but my “hot take” is that Everton are going to be the surprise package this season. A push for Europe may be on. Grealish looks class and it goes to show that for all Pep’s revolutionary, tippy-tappy, pass-the-ball-sideways, keep-the-ball-at-all-costs, bore-your-opponents-to-death, don’t-you-dare-take-any-risks football, it doesn’t suit certain players and just stifles their creativity. It’s why I’d hate to see him get his hands on MGW.

Brew House on Trent bridge. basically we told them to shove it. It started raining as we got to Trent bridge so we popped into Brew house. A pal asks for a pint and the barman said “ we don’t have that”. So my pal just turned the sign round on the pump. The guy said “ the company don’t like us to turn them around”. And he turned I back. my pal said “ if it was turned around I wouldn’t have asked for it as I would have known you had none”. He shrugged his shoulders. I. Asked for a pint of American IPA. The barman said “ we don’t have any of that either”. I asked “ would it be easier to tell us what you have or what you don’t have”. I turned to my pal and said “ this isn’t the only pub in Notts so we went to the one I mentioned. 😁👍
Haha, brewhouse and kitchen are one of my customers (we provide all their software/tills), but sadly this doesn’t surprise me. Some of their venues are really well run but others not so much.

I've seen the PGMOL has already said VAR should have not intervened. The VAR ref was supposed to referee Arsenal v Liverpool today, but had been stood down.

I wonder how easy it is for them to change the ref less than 24hrs before a game. And I wonder if they'll stand the onfield ref down for next set of fixtures?

I'm a big fan of Grealish. Always wanted him at Utd before he went to City. I think he was very much wasted at City. City play well as a team, but certain players, who have a bit of an X Factor, can be destroyed by City's sterile play. They just get diluted into a large squad of quality footballing robots

I hope he does class at Everton, except when they play Man Utd of course.

Do you honestly think that teams set up the same way for Everton as they do City. Grealish is getting far more space for Everton than he ever did at City.i personally never had a problem with Grealish at City. But at times HIS decision making at City when on the ball was down to him not Pep. It was that which got him a move.

Biggest problem for me about VAR yesterday is the ref should have the balls to say “ you shouldn’t be getting involved and my decision stands”

Pathetic doing it after the game it’s no good to Fulham then.

Whilst the media continue to discuss how long Amorim will last as manager, I will quietly take some satisfaction that Man Utd are higher in the league than Man City, Forest, Brighton, Newcastle and maybe Villa going into the international break 😀

Complete and utter rammel.

If City think they will beat teams when playing with three at the back they are in for a rude awakening. On a weekly basis.

Deserved win for the seagulls.
