Hope of course you're wrong. Ive been told Marc G is going and to Liverpool....only threat to that is if you have to push the money for Isak to a level that makes it too much to also buy him. Also told Marc is only interested in clubs who are CL next season, with Liverpool his preferred option. He will stay at Palace if he has to and wait for a deal.
Eze i hope we can keep, Arsenal will have to hit the release clause and they are well under it at the moment. Pray he stays.
Not ideal with this uncertainty and then today only learning our European fate. All i will say on that is I look forward hopefully to a long run in the conference, visiting some teams and places new to me along the way and wouldn't it be sweet to win ot and stick it up UAFA.
We've had an amazing few months, beating City and then Liverpool at Wembley and bringing silverware into a rather empty trophy cabinet (if we even owned one im not sure! ).
We have a world class manager and a great side with a good spirit. We will be fine. I just hope we have the players lined up to replace anyone who does leave

I hadn't been completely convinced by arguments for him when this first broke, but he was absolutely brilliant on Sunday in the Community Shield. Best centre back on the park in my view. Will be able to play both sides and there will definitely be enough time for him and Konate given the latter's injury record. And if, as it seems, Konate is off to Madrid next summer it's one bit of business we don't need to chase.

It looks like Konate wants to sign a new contract and club looking at it as soon as the signings get sorted
Guehi at 25 could also start to take over from VVD
He is going to play a good amount of games
Also looking at a 18 year old CB who will then go back oj loan

What do we actually think will happen with Isak. He seems determined to leave knowing that Liverpool are very very keen, and Newcastle clearly did not want him to leave. Newcastle have also not managed to get another striker in.
So, do Newcastle relent, and accept Liverpool's next slightly raised offer? Or do they hold firm, and tell Isak he must stay unless Liverpool offer an insane amount more than they've already offered?
If I were Newcastle, and knowing Isak has a contract until 2028, I would just be confident that I hold all the cards. Isak will still be a valuable asset to sell next summer, or the summer after. I wouldn't want to feel bullied into letting him go, especially if it is going to be a struggle to make use of the money in this window to buy any sort of decent replacement. If they have to put up with a sulky player this season, then so be it.

Yep. I'd hold out for the silly money from Liverpool and tell him if they don't offer it he can either put his heart and soul into training and playing for Newcastle or join the Sunday morning toilet cleaning detail.
If he doesn't want to play football he doesn't deserve to be at the top of the pay scale for professional footballers.

Isak has said he won’t play for Newcastle again is the big problem for me.
We as fans would all applaud Newcastle if they made him rot in the reserves but the money men won’t let that happen.
I think he goes somewhere on loan and then joins another team permanently next season

As it stands, Isak has probably backed himself into a corner and now doesn't know how to get himself out of it, so is just digging deeper. Every day puts more and more separation between him and the first team and I cant see anyway he can redeem himself in the eyes of the supporters. I don't truly believe that he quite understands the god like status he could have achieved on Tyneside...he could have been another Gallagher, Milburn, Macdonald or Shearer...club legends in every respect. But that's the fan in me talking...I understand that he has personal ambitions that possibly outweigh how he wants to be remembered at whatever clubs he plays for....but that doesn't stop me from thinking "you don't know what you are giving up".
However, despite the desire in some quarters to "see him rot" in the reserves, there is absolutely no point having a player around the training camp, being despised by the other first team players and generating a bad atmosphere that will detract from the focus that is needed to mount campaigns on several fronts. There is no way back and Newcastle will get rid.
Personally I'd rather we sold him for £90-£100m to a continental side, rather than for £125m or whatever to a direct competitor. But my belief is that a deal will be done with Liverpool after we play them in late August.
