It's what's she said in her interview. Maybe the doctor got it wrong?
I was told by the hospital "I had broken my back". It fecking hurt like hell, but "all"I had done was crack 3 vertebrae and compressed 2 more.
Call it what you like, I had bones that weren't perfect, and perhaps her fibia isn't either.

It’s prob a hairline fracture in the shin
either way...the commitment she showed when the going got tough is something the men should take a look at....would have been so easy to go into tackles half heartedly knowing there was already a problem.

The team deserves all the plaudits they get for the grit and determination they showed.

Weird game, Spain were so far ahead technically it was like they were playing a different game. Their problem was they didn't have a striker and got into dangerous areas and kept trying to walk the ball in. England hung on and battled away, once it went to ET I knew they would win on pens.

Possible. It just found it a bit bizarre. I tried to watch with no sound but you don’t get the crowd either then obviously. Shame there wasn’t a no commentary button 😂.

Do we get a bank holiday tomorrow now?
Am with you, I thought some of the football was bang average but made out to be better than it was. That said. A wins a win 👍

Can't say I did.

Perhaps there is less incentive for the commentators to be ultra critical of every single mistake a player makes? Try and sensationalise everything, like the mens game?

No way, in the mens game mistakes are pointed out and players often roundly slated. When it comes to the women you'll get the most basic and mundane shot/save being described as world class. Any mistakes are completely ignored and papered over quickly.

I was surprised at the amount of diving and play acting. I was under the impression the women's game doesn't suffer from this

Some of the play acting was more than embarrassing . Missis T laughed when they showed a replay of a “ foul” when the England player looked at the Spanish player rolling on the floor and said “ get up you ****”.

There seems to be a lot of people on here who appear to watch things and concentrate more on the commentary than what is actually taking place on screen. Every main golf event gets loads of comments, and now the football. Just goes to show how grumpy some people are 😂

For me, commentary is background noise to a large extent. Apart from identifying the players, the whole experience is visual. I haven’t got a clue that the commentators were praising 5 yard passes.

I think part of it is people actually see what is/ has happened on the telly and the commentary just does not relate to what has actually happened.
Another thing is not every footballer is a natural commentator and sometimes it is complete and utter Rammel listening to ex footballers commentary. In fact some of the best commentators have probably never kicked a ball.

I’m lucky that I can actually watch the pictures and listen to the sound at the same time.
You must really struggle with movies?
I think a good commentary team can enhance a football match and a poor commentary can distract from one.
I just found it interesting that there was a real refusal to criticise any players throughout the whole tournament when a lot of football I watch (mainly men) it is an important part of the commentary and analysis and in my opinion helps create a good balance in assessing a match

Football is a game of mistakes. Watch any game, there will be many many incidents of misplaced passes, poor control, mistimed tackles. I can understand focus on big mistakes leading leading to major outcomes. But do we really need commentators to focus on every mistake made by a player during a game?

The men's game love it. They could trawl through as many mistakes over a weekend, just so Carragher can talk about them for an hour on MNF. And meme after meme can be posted online.

In all honesty, I can't recall hyper praise for simple actions in the game. But, I was more focused on watching the game, than evaluating the commentators. In general, the women looked to pass it about well, excellent first touches, decent crosses, etc. Russo's goal was a classic No. 9 header, the Spanish goal was well worked as well. There was definitely enough that deserved huge praise. Good goals, and the England women are more entertaining than the English men at the moment. Certainly more entertaining than Man Utd men, where I would be overjoyed to see a successful 5 yard pass 😀
