This is how he always looks/sounds when he interviews to be fair.

Bloke’s a grown man, if he wanted to leave and not wanted to re-sign, he would have done what Wissa and Isak are doing and forced a move.

Marinakis called him a club legend in his interview and has made him the highest paid player in the club’s history.

If you read the telegraph article about the whole saga, turns out he didn’t push for a move and spurs completely ballsed up the conditions for triggering the release clause.

Isak cant force a move if a club hasn't put in a bid for him. At the moment it looks like he wants to leave, but no one wants to buy him.

If Liverpool are genuinely interested, they need to piss, if not, they need to get off the pot. The sooner either thing happens the better, for all concerned. Perhaps the Diaz money will shift things on a bit.

He’s going to cost a fare bit,if Diaz is going for £75m Isac surely has to be £150m 🤯

Think we wil make a bid if Newcastle are willing to actually sell him and then they will negotiate the price - seems the way it goes these days

John Percy, highly respected transfer journalist, has written an article in The Telegraph about how the MGW saga was Tottenham’s fault because they didn’t fulfil the terms of the release clause correctly. Which is what I said might be the case at the time.

Turns out the devil was in the detail of MGW’s contract and release clause. Which is what I said might be the case at the time.

Turns out this situation is absolutely no different to Crystal Palace/Michael Olise/Chelsea. Which is what I said might be the case at the time.

“If you can keep a Protected Six team from stealing away your star Number 10,
While all around you are farting out their ill-informed opinions on contracts and release clauses,
The details of which none of them are aware of or have access to,

Then you’re Nottingham Forest, my son”

Just made up numbers is the problem.
Teams havnt got that sort of money except one or two and we wonder why it’s the same ones at the top.

There needs to be some sort of cap.
£150 mil is just stupid.
There doesn't need to be a cap, as a buying club will simply pay what they think they can afford.

If Newcastle say it will cost £500 million to get Isak, that is up to them. They are basically saying he is not for sale, unless another club is willing to do the unthinkable and pay that sort of money. If they are willing to part ways for £150 million, then that's up to them. They'll simply weigh up the fact that they don't want to get rid of him, but also that he will probably leave at some point, so if he goes now how can they maximise his worth. Setting the fee too high now may keep him at the club now, but they take the financial hit later because they get less for him.

Wonder if the new contract now has a better release 🤔

Also he has prob got himself a new juicy pay rise 👏

Well played MGW who along with his agent has prob done a blinder here to get himself a nice big wage and prob a way out if Forest aren’t as a competitive

Yeah we all realise he’s probably going to be gone in a year.

But it’ll be for his true value.

And I do like how you’re now singing a different song Arthur. You’ve gone from “Bad Marinakis, he can’t do this, this is naughty” to “Well played MGW, you’ve had a blinder here”. Whatever suits your narrative 👍

Oh, absolutely. My point was, Isak and Wissa are throwing their toys out of the pram, not training and trying to move on - Gibbs-White has showed up to training camp in the midst of his heavily pregnant wife having some trying complications - hasn't moaned, hasn't sulked or been negative and has just got on with his job. If he was as set on a move as Spurs fans made him out to be, he'd have forced it by now.

Instead, he's just had a massive pay day, will have a team built around him and lead them on the club's first European campaign for 30 years.

I'm happy to eat humble pie, as some of my assumptions of the situation were completely wrong...Turns out Spurs were just Spursy and absolutely ballsed it.

No release clause, according to John Percy's article. Just a massive pay rise and is the club's highest paid player in history.

As has been said, if he has a good season, he'll probably be gone next summer - and it'll be with everyone's blessing, with his true value.

Not sure who it was maybe @Aztecs27 who highlighted that MGW maybe engineering all this
Yep, as I said, I speculated, based on information and timelines we all had - but happy that I was wrong.

Just blink twice if you're in danger, Morgan. Haven't seen a single vid of him without that Greek weapon standing beside him yet. 😂
😆 😆

the reason they were stood there together is because they were both being interviewed for the club's social media outlets. If you watch the Marinakis interview, you might actually see that he's legitimately an owner who cares and has massive ambitions for his football club(s). He will not sit back and just let the club turnover year after year (a la Steve Parish with Crystal "12th place" Palace)...he'll do whatever it takes to make sure the club succeeds - including pumping millions of his own money into the club to convert debt into shares.
