For me personally, I have pretty much always aimed to watch every televised Premier League game that I can. However, this is the first season I have ever made the decision to not watch a lot of the televised games, or switched them over early as I can't be bothered. Why?

Well, as a Man Utd fan, my love of football has clearly taken a hit due to how they've played. By the end of the season, there was nothing to play for. And I've absolutely no interest in watching other sides battle higher up the table when my own side has been so shocking. I suppose given the fact Man Utd have a very large support, there may well be very many other fans in my shoes, have been turned off watching football this season? Maybe Spurs fans as well, who probably have a decent support. Whereas if Brentford and Palace were having poor seasons, it wouldn't impact the overall numbers as much.

Also, there has been no title race. There has been no relegation battle. So, for fans in general, there has really been very little of interest, apart from the battle for some European spots. And, even with that, no-one ever seems to really know what sport gets what European competition, because nation coefficients and results in other competitions can have an impact on who gets into what.

Ohh, and I don't suppose VAR is helping matters. That just seems to make football worse and worse as each season goes on. I think football fans love the passion, or the pain, of the moment and reacting to that. Whereas they hate to be in the dark for a few minutes as to what the outcome will be, and despair when the final decision seems to be ridiculous
Football as a whole has definitely become worse and worse to watch. I've talked before about how I've pretty much stopped watching games now. VAR has muddied the waters around offsides, and handballs, and it's killed the flow of the game. People don't want to be waiting around for 5 minutes to see their goal is ruled out because their shoelace was offside. The product just isn't as good as it used to be, and that's why people are switching off. Simple as that.

To clarify, I'll still watch every single Man Utd game, despite the pain it has often caused.

But, it is my interest in other football matches that took a sharp decline. If Man Utd were in the mix at the top of the table, or even if they were miles in front, I'd still be more interested in the teams fighting below or around us. When we are 15th, it is hard to get any enjoyment in watching a Villa, Newcastle, Chelsea, etc game. I'd still watch some, like a big game such as Liverpool v Man City, or Villa v Arsenal. Or if a more mundane fixture looks entertaining from the start, I'll stay tuned. But if it isn't, my will power to keep watching is low.

I just found myself sticking on the ps5 or putting on Netflix quite a lot this season when football games were on, I never used to do that.
I’ve lost a lot of interest in football for all the obvious reasons , I only really watch the Spurs games except maybe a big cup game.

I had a good laugh at my son in law he’s Scottish and a plastic Arsenal fan, I told him Spurs have had a better season, got a trophy and CL, that’s more than them. 😂

Will the premier league lower their costs ?

How cheap should it be to watch all the football ?

What’s the ball park figure when it’s roughly £22 a month for someone who is already with Sky

Or £27 a month for a rolling contract

£34 for yearly now TV sports package

Maybe they just have to be more innovative in the packages they put together. Possibly an option for a 'Season Ticket' for a team you support. It then gives you access to all of their games but you don't have to pay for all of the other games you have no interest in?

If you have a “season ticket” for just the team you support guess which teams will get the most views - the big teams

The way it works right now is every club gets a significant share of the review then it’s spilt depending on how much the team is on

Will the smaller clubs be ok losing revenue because they would get less

Right now it’s around £300-400 to watch over 180 games a season

Compare than to someone’s season ticket

You can pay a little extra so you can watch on 2 devices at the same time,me & my mate have done that & split the cost.

Which they get greedy with eventually like netflix, Disney etc and make it so you have it stop sharing

How much money is enough for these guys? Disney plus used to be £50 a year. Then £60 89 now £130 for the top package. That's just one of them

Sure things go up but to cut down sharing at the same time. They are frankly taking the stuff the toilet should be taking

I do laugh when they seem to justify higher fees by saying "next season, Sky will be showing 100 additional games"

Brilliant. I can already see all the big games. Do I really want to pay extra to watch Brentford versus Palace, a game you might not have televised previously? I think not. Why not just keep your prices the same, but take into account you may get a few more subscribers because other fans of clubs not shown often will now realise they'll get to see their team more regularly.

Dodgy box must have a huge impact though. It seems like many of the guys I play golf with, even randoms I play with in comps, all have illegal TV. It seems so easy to get. They just get their firestick, and then pay a few quid for someone to download the Apps, give them the codes, or whatever. To be honest, I know a golf club that has shown the football on illegal TV for nearly 20 years. And, when I was back in N Ireland during the early 2000's, we went to a pub in town every Saturday to watch the 3pm kick offs on illegal TV. If it is that easy to stream so publicly, how can it ever be dealt with?

Thats if people need to have them pre set up, you can do it yourself on any android device in about 5 minutes .. only need the log in details which are cheap

Sky need to drastically change their MO .. they haven't updated in decades

As if Liverpool fans weren't triggered enough already, it turns out Trent has been learning Spanish for years! 😂
I understood him better in that interview than I did any time he spoke scouse to be fair :ROFLMAO:

Fair play to him though, I'm impressed. If he put as much work into his defensive work as he did learning Spanish, he would be one heck of an all round player

Very strange the use of “triggered”

He has left , not surprised he has had a crash course to ensure he has a good first impression there

I’m sure he will do well there but we have moved on now
To speak like that is more than a crash course
I wonder if Carra will be taking a crash course in English

When you say "we", are you speaking on behalf of all Liverpool fans

It's just that I still feel there are quite a large number of Liverpool fans who haven't quite moved on yet

And “we” as in the club has moved on and his replacement in the club

I’m sure there will always be those that will continue to be reactionary to keep you up to date with the Trent news 👍
