Neville when talking about United - blow hot and cold

Right now he is very silent on InEos and blames everything on the glazers

In the past he has been very silent on the Glazers and blamed others

How much smoke did they blow up OGS when he was in

They are all very selective when it comes to the criticism

Carragher has been critical of the owners of the club in the past

It’s part of their job - they will get the people talking

Both will be very passionate about their clubs and very defensive

It’s prob easier for Man Utd players like Neville and Co to be critical about the club when it’s a mess

Harder to find fault with clubs that are doing well
Neville has criticised the Glazer's to death. He has always said he would stop short of certain things. I don't think he gets into a habit of calling for managers to get sacked in the media, I don't think that is anything to be critical of? I wouldn't expect Carragher to say Gerrard should be sacked btw, although he will happily speak to death about other managers needing sacked, in his opinion.

It is clear as night and day that Liverpool have got themselves into a mess over the contracts of these players. Would be better just to own it, than try and defend it.

Contracts are two way streets - not just down to one side

We know why the contract issues have happened and where the gap was

But even if there was people there - can’t force someone to sign a contract if he is intending on running it down

Nothing is “clear as night and day” because no one knows what’s been happening in the background

It was quite amusing with Neville - he has spent years slating TAA ( are you Neville 🤔 ) - and then he sat there and said - maybe he is leaving the country because he is under appreciated and been wasted by England

Roy Keane said he should be playing at Tranmere as that’s his level - then says he is a Real Madrid level player

He has gone from being a waste of space in oppos eyes to suddenly we are losing the best RB in the game

Amusing

The likes of Keane and Neville have been ultra harsh on United especially on Sky football across all aspects of the club

Which you would expect right now due to them being a complete car crash both on and off the field

It’s very easy to point fingers when it’s a mess
But when Neville points out an issue with Liverpool and Carra defends the club that is accepatable. Usual double standards I'm afraid and another point you'll labour out to prove the point

You have missed the point where it was said the club was at fault when it messed around with the management system above the manager which has contributed to the current issues with the contracts - which is what he said - the club dropped the ball

The club were without a proper DoF for too long

Neville just blamed FSG for Trent leaving

It’s never as black and white as that which is what Carragher was saying

Trent leaving isn’t down to FSG and it’s not their fault

There doesn’t have to be “blame” or “fault” on any party

He wants to go to Madrid , and he will get that wish

If the only way to do that was to go on a free then it’s a choice Trent has made - no blame just a choice

We got him for nothing , won lots with him , and he leaves

You're missing the point that when Neville et al have a pop at Liverpool it is seen as having a go, and yet they are happy to argue about the issues at United and call it as they see it. Seems a case of don't dare say anything about Liverpool. Certainly how it reads from your defence. I am done as you will re-hash the same points

Pickford has actually come close in previous seasons, he was second to Raya last season. We could not score goals but we could certainly keep them out .

It's a tricksy one really. Does it show a great keeper or a great defensive unit? It's the latter really. You can't be a useless keeper but if the guys in front are protecting you well, you don't have that much to do.

Yes good point. It’s an award to a keeper but in reality one could argue it’s more to do with the defence in front of them. In our case our defence has been amazing but Sels has genuinely put in some world class performances.

You do really need to get past the protected 6 stuff 😂

🤣 I’m happy to summarise them as such. They aren’t (all) “top” any more and I don’t like the word “Big” in this context. “Protected” or “Entitled” fits the bill perfectly 😉😀

The good news is when Forest get into CL they will get their secret squirrel pack about being part of the elite 😂

Did they hurt your feelings, or do you completely ignore context?

Neville has praised TAA to death, and in my opinion been overboard, probably because he knows if he criticizes him Liverpool fans will scream bias. The amount of times he has said it is criminal that England cannot get them into their lineup has been incredible. But, sure, he has highlighted his defensive fragilities, and he is hardly alone on that one.

Do you genuinely believe Roy Keane thinks Tranmere is TAA's level, or do you think he was over egging it to make a point? Just like when he said Haaland is like a League 2 player. An objective person can determine exactly what point Keane was trying to make, and they were fair points to make. It was clearly not meant to be taken literally.

Yet again, you continue with this "best RB in the world nonsense". He isn't, and very few people are saying that. But, everyone knows where TAA's talents lie, and from an attacking point of view they could be a real strength to Real Madrid's team. Even Haaman was on TalkSport earlier in the weak saying Real Madrid would be a good fit for him, as his weaknesses in defence were unlikely to be exposed too much, and his strengths will be a huge plus for Real.

But that doesn't fit the best RB narrative?

If anything I’m more worried about how it’s going to affect you

What will you do when Trent isn’t in a Liverpool shirt - can you cope ? I know he is a favourite of yours , don’t worry young Bradley can be your focus next season

As for the best RB in the world -

Seem plenty call him that - even the legendary Cafu said as such

Plenty articles call him that - just read two saying the same thing

But that doesn't fit the best RB narrative?

So who decides what player is the best

So what do you go with

There are loads of articles out there

Is it really a “narrative” then when many are picking him as the best
I picked one at random so I am sure with a bit of looking there would be others that rate TAA other than #1 As Swango stated you are one of those that have been spouting the best RB in world narrative. Many have commented on the defensive frailties and that he is better going forward so an ideal fit it would seem for Real. He can't be the best and be frail. Which one are you now choosing?

Again you are using the word “narrative”

I think he is the best RB in the world - I don’t have to “chose” anything

Many others also think the same

Someone else might think it’s

James or Hakimi or Frimpong

There is no “definitive” answer - it’s just opinions , not some narrative

Finding a loophole as the argument doesn't suit with others daring to say TAA isn't the best RB. It is opinions but when others without your tinted glasses voice it, as many have done on here and in the mdia you look to find, to an nth degree a reason to prove they are wrong in their opinion. This will no doubt continue although I have said my piece but I am sure someone else will post something about the whole saga, his ranking or whatever and it'll be challenged although will their opinion be recognised? Not sure that has always been the case

Agree with your thoughts about opinion. There is no 1 metric to decide who is the best footballer, in any position (including goals scored and clean sheets) so all these lists are based on opinion - and we all know that every one has an opinion, just like everyone has a .............

PS Opinions aren't fact

Thankyou, and you are right. TAA is the gift that kept on giving, so I will be sad to see him leave Liverpool. I've said many times I like the look of Bradley, so why would I worry him? Plus' he's Northern Irish, so I'll have a have a bigger soft spot for him, and will forgive him for playing for Liverpool.

I think you'll find more people are critical of his defending, no one is really critical of his attacking, and all you are doing is finding the odd isolated opinion that seems to back your opinion.

It's strange. Are you now suggesting Cafu's opinion should be respected (presumably because he is a former right-back himself), yet a few posts ago you were being critical of Gary Neville?
