Am not sure why Stevie G is being quoted as a Saint, am sure when he wanted a move to Chelsea his name was mud and mobsters became involved.Yes, that's exactly the point.

The real reason is nobody knows except him and the club.I remember them burning Stevie G shirts when he handed in a transfer request.
Are they mad with him because he’s leaving,or because he run contract down & they’re getting nothing for him?
If it’s the latter, that’s on the club not him.

I think the directors of the club should be held accountable for allowing 3 of their biggest stars to run their contracts down.I'm still trying to figure out how Liverpool have approached this situation, and should it be praised or criticised.
They, in their own opinion at least, have the best right-back in the world, 26 years old. His contract runs out at the end of this season. This time last season he was 25. Should they not have tried to finalise a contract extension then? And, if the player refused to sign one, sold him in the summer? If he is that good, that many of the worlds best club would want him in their side, Liverpool could have made a huge amount of money. Forget his defending, just for his crossing alone, how much would some of the big teams been willing to pay? £50 million, £70 million, £100 million?

There was a restructure in the sporting dept team above the manager prior to Klopps last season which left nobody in charge of footballing contract matters. That is on the clubs board.
Once Klopp had declared he was leaving, There's no way any established player would sign a contract extension without knowing who the next manager is.
TAA owes Lverpool nothing however he did say he wanted to be Club Captain and said nothing else about his contract unlike the other 2. That for me is disappointing.
I'm old enough to remember Kevin Keegan leaving Liverpool for the mighty Hamburg and i never ever thought we'd replace him. We know the rest. We've replaced great players in the past and will continue to do so in the summer, though i dont think we'll ever replace Nunez.
Very good point. My club has historically been a selling club so as fans we get use to having players, bringing them on and then losing them. The sticking point is we always seem to let them go at what seems low values in the market of the time. We never seem to have an interest in actually trying to keep a talented squad together for 2-3 seasons and seeing where it takes usThe real reason is nobody knows except him and the club.
Good luck to him at Real.
But any player that dosnt want to play for the club anymore can be replaced.
Ward left mid term, what happened after that is solely on the Boards table. They, the board, agreed to a short term replacement in which Klopp brought his mate in who helped get the players Klopp wanted/needed. That transfer summer was a success. The biggest error for me was when more power was given to Klopp which meant that we lost Ward and any sort of DoF to oversea the contracts etc
We had a model that was working and enabling the club to bring in very good players
Any adult behaving like this needs their hard drive checking. Kids i could understand the emotional attachment. There's a right old meltdown happening on Twitter among the LFC fanbase about Trent Alexander-Arnold having the temerity to want to move to a bigger club. Fans burning TAA Liverpool shirts, trotting out footage of Stevie G saying he'd rather win one trophy at Liverpool than ten with any other club and all sorts of other hysteria.
Yet when they plunder "smaller" teams for their talent, it's just all part of football.
No doubt though, this situation is ENTIRELY different and this sort of reaction is warranted and justified and Trent Alexander-Arnold is a villain of the highest order.
I know plenty of LFC fans and individually they're sound and I have no issues with them. But as a fanbase, they are the absolute worst.
(Sorry in advance to any LFC fans on here. I know that posting this is like saying "Candyman" in the mirror three times).

They behaved the same with Gerrard (burning shirt) before twitter.Any adult behaving like this needs their hard drive checking. Kids i could understand the emotional attachment.
Twitter and social media in general is a cesspit. Using twitter and the likes to asses the opinion of football fans generally, Liverpool fans more so, should be approached with caution.
You'll never walk alone....unless you leave the club under circumstances that don't suit us. Then we'll just call you a little rat and burn your shirtIt's the whole singing YNWA and we are the best fan base in the world blah blah blah, horrible fan base and it's more than a few fans lets get this right, they sure are coming out the woodwork the blerts.
