Forest play to their strengths and deserve to be were they are, but giving that much possession at home to a top team is always going to need your keeper and defence at the top of their game.

As both you and Phil have said, some of your players were not at their best, but you still created a lot of chances. 23 shots to their 6.
Yes but they spent most of their time parked on the 18 yd line.
They had so many players back it’s difficult to get through.
Williams put Salah out the game for most of it.
But both him and Gakpo come inside to much and just run into traffic.
Thought Slot should have changed them over to take the fullbacks on and get behind them a bit.
We struggle to deal with teams that sit deep like this and have done for a while.

But a lot of those 23 shots were more likley to hurt someone in row Z than trouble the keeper.
A points a point at the end of the day.

I can only guess that the last 30 mins changed the balance - but don’t think it reflected the game

Certainly Liverpool were the better side towards the end, but Forest more than fair value for their point.

Don’t think anyone can say now that Forest are where they are for any reason other than they are a really well run football club with a manager who is a perfect fit.

Whilst I still question whether they have quite enough to finish the season where they now are, or even higher, it really is starting to remind me of 2015/15 when the world and his wife expected Leicester to blow up. And we all know how that came back to bite us.

It’d be interesting to see the first half stats, I reckon that’d be a lot closer or even Forest edgeing it.
Seems to be a theme with us.
We’re just not as dynamic in the first half, not sure if it’s a tactic.
We seem to go for teams second half.
But conceding first half is a problem if you miss that many chances.

I’m not taking anything away from the effort your team, especially the keeper and defence, put in.

A couple of your players down with cramp, brilliant effort, but it took that effort to stop them, that’s why I think Slot would see it as 2 points lost.
Oh absolutely. Forest will be disappointed at conceding such a soft goal as well. Fine margins and all that. He can think what he wants. He definitely won’t have a win against us this season which will annoy him 😂

Other teams are dropping points though so can’t see to many overhauling them if they keep playing well.

Watching tonight you can see why they are in the top four

The back line is superb , Gk outstanding, they are protected by Yates who does the ugly stuff

Then Anderson is brilliant on the ball , MWG creative in the middle - add the pace out wide and it’s perfect to counter

They don’t play brilliant football and whilst it’s going to get them wins I don’t think it’s good enough to win a title

They’ve played some superb football going forward at times, we only got a small glimpse tonight, but other matches it’s been a different story.

On a side note, I had a look back until the beginning of Nov and apart from the Villa match which was 50:50, they’ve had less possession in every game, and that includes against the likes of us and Ipswich.

Nuno is doing a fantastic job atm.

Possession really is pointless as a stat. We had less possession than Luton (!) on Saturday and they were never in the game.

We are so comfortable without the ball that it really makes no difference much of the time

I’d disagree, I think it highlights your strengths and just how good Nuno has got you playing.
A Team has to be very comfortable and full of self belief to surrender that much possession.
It’s a testament to how much work they are putting in on the training ground.
It can’t be easy for someone like Chris Wood to be patient and to put in so much work defensively, he’s having the season of his life.

It's fascinating to watch us defend against relentless attack from a great team like Liverpool.
In and around the penalty area we just do the textbook stuff really well. They don't go to ground but never back off. And that blocking move that the defenders pull out to stop multiple shots every game is simple but so effective.
Murillo was a beast again tonight.
I'm thrilled to be one of the few teams that won't lose to Liverpool this season but gutted with that soft goal from a corner.
Could've easily have been 1-0 or 1-4.
