Rumour mill in overdrive suggesting that United are open to offers for Marcus Rashford and that the player has stated he is ready for a new challenge.

For the first time in fifty years as a fan, I can say without hesitation that my heart did not sink when I read that a long standing homegrown talent decided he wanted out. Completely the opposite, in fact.

If this is the start of the long overdue clearout, then it’s a happy day.

Apparently contracted until 2028, £300k per week. He's going to take some shifting unless utd cover most of his contract. It's going to hurt to move him on.

His statement is a big “come and get me” but looking at his form and character , who’s going to want him? AND who is going to at least match his £300k per week till 2028???

I can’t see us selling him for much as the buyer will need to put most of the fee into his salary.

If a deal can be done I'd love to see him at west ham

His fitness record is pretty good (we would change that)

And his goal record is good. He would be excellent up front for us

Alas he has spurs written all over him

I think that would be a good move for him but his opinion of himself will see him at a PSG , Barce or Madrid. He also complains when he plays as a cf and prefers to come in from the left wing lol

One worldy season aside, I’d say his goal record is OK. The issue is passion and work rate. As long as the fans are happy to have a playboy forward who doesn’t track back then he’s a good fit.

For us it's better than no CF! We have played with a converted winger for so long. Tried strikers who have failed or not adapted..

40 million Haller . Great player. Didn't smile enough for the fans
35 million scamacca , good striker didn't settle in England
15 million ings , very good but past it
20 million fulkerg, fits well but awful injury when he arrived

So for that alone having a proven premier league striker (rather than playing him on the wing) who has a good injury record . I'd take that!

Think your right about the level he considers himself at tho

I wouldn't get your hopes up if you think Rashford is a striker, or if you think he'll smile enough for the fans

Expectation levels tho

Being a striker for man united brings a higher level of expectations than west ham

We have had Antonio up top for ages. He manages 10 goals a season

Our highest premier league scorer was Bowen last season 16 goals, joint with PDC way back in 2000

Only harewood with 15 comes close

Now if rashford got 15-20 goals up front for us with Bowen firing them in on the right that transforms the team

I wouldn't be convinced he'd get that many up top.

As a striker, he has a huge flaw. He will not get involved in any battle with a defender. Won't challenge, won't go for a 50/50 or aerial battle, terrible with back to goal. I only remember him scoring one header for Utd, ETH's first season. I thought that was a turning point, it wasn't.

His strength is out wide, running at defenders, and he has a great shot if the chance presents itself. But, running at defenders is a bit of a lottery, as he often runs into dead ends and doesn't seem to have the sharpness of mind to pass the ball instead of dribble a lot of the time. Very different to Bowen, who seems to do lots of great work even when he isn't scoring. Bowen can bring others team mates into game, rather than just dribble himself. Rashford is a bit of a one trick pony.

And, off the ball, Rashford really does nothing. Even when he runs, it is only to show he is running, but there is no useful purpose to it.

There is a player in there somewhere, if his attitude changes. It was terrible under ETH after ETH's 1st season, and seemingly it still is under Amorim. He scored a lot in ETH's first season, but he never really played great outside scoring the goals, and I think teams learnt how to defend against him after that first season. Maybe he just doesn't naturally have that top level of competitiveness that many footballers have, and so struggles to give 100%. Maybe there are issues in his life that are a barrier. Or, maybe it is the pressure of playing for a top club with constant media scrutiny he can't handle. So, there is a chance he could go somewhere else and actually be a class player, but it's a big IF.

I hope he does do well wherever he goes, as long as it isn't against Utd. He seems like he is probably a decent person, but just looks completely lost at the moment.

The guy on the pitch is at work.!
What would happen to you if you hit a security person from behind while he’s restraining someone then rip his glasses off.

I would guess the sack!
But these players are “assets “ and worth millions so that won’t happen.

He needs teaching that you can’t do that .

Starting at 5 games and then up from there I think, they'll deservedly make an example of him. Stupid boy.

I can’t see Rashford at Spurs Ange wants his players to press high with plenty of running the amount of effort would be to much for him. 😂
The fans would soon be on his back for lack of effort, plus Levy would never pay the amount of money needed to get him.
