But the fans didn't want a manager who can grind out wins and win European Trophies. They wanted a team who can play attacking football with 30 goal attempts and not bothered if they lost 3-1

Here we go, he has wolves to save his job

However 3 players won't be in the squad as he has fallen out with them

Areola
Todibo
Kudos

Right then. So our best keeper he has fallen out with. Stuck with fabianski

A very highly rated defender has to miss out for dinos who makes one error a game

If the kudos one is true then we are truly screwed. One of our best players

If it's true I want him gone asap. You can't alienate key players and have to play lesser in their place just because of your fall outs.

How have some of the teams got in ?!

Porto ?
PSG
Atletico
Benfica
Dortmund
Inter Miami
Salzburg

Also hope they put the roof on at Bramley soon

Performances in Champions League over last 4 seasons apparently.

Inter Miami were awarded the spot as a host nation side, and clearly only selected because of Messi with a little dose of Brand Beckham

Spurs let themselves down.. they just don’t show up regularly
Spurs fans have reason to be optimistic, as they are sure to get 3 wins in their next 5 games, as they are playing Chelsea, Man Utd and Liverpool. The only blips will be losses against Rangers and Southampton
Yeah... Ange must be on his last legs by now. There's no point whatsoever in beating City if you then get 1 point from games against Fulham and Bournemouth. Four points from those three games where ordinarily you'd expect six (i.e. lose to City and beat the other two). If you ignore the first ten games of last season where he had a flying start - we've lost nearly half our league games since then. That just isn't good enough. And all he does is chat breeze in interviews about trying to be 'entertaining'. Being inconsistent isn't entertaining, it's annoying. Losing games against poor sides isn't entertaining. Granted we have a lot of injuries, but this can be traced back to the manager and his training methods as well - and failure to strengthen the squad with back-up players that are at the required level.

I didn't watch all of the game last night but the bit I saw, second half, Bournemouth could have got 3 or 4. 1-0 flattered Spurs. Bournemouth were ridiculously wasteful. Poor performance from Spurs.

Ange's "tactics" are a joke. No doubt he was able to overload teams in Scotland and Japan, but you can't do that in the Premier League, most teams know how to counter you. We play full backs as attackers and wonder why we concede from back post crosses all the time. It really is that basic. Abysmal from set pieces too, it's like he doesn't even bother working on them.

Honestly, whilst the performances aren't great, is Ange the issue?

You've now gone through so many managers since Poch that I struggle to name them all and the issue of inconsistent performance is the same..

Yes he is. He is the manager. Just because we've had other managers that didn't work it doesn't mean the manager isn't the problem. Jose and Conte were the wrong type of manager for the club, that much was clear. But Ange clearly isn't the answer either. We need a manager who doesn't need to buy a team (Jose & Conte) but also isn't a tactical joke and can get a team performing better than the sum of its parts.

We were linked to Arne Slot a while back, but we didn't get it over the line. Looks like we massively dropped the ball now doesn't it?

At this stage it does, yes. But, time will tell.

2 years ago, ETH was getting a lot of positive press in his first season, despite Man Utd still being a joke and many loving to stick the knife in. But, from his second season, when the results were poorer, then he was criticized pretty much daily until he was let go.

1 year ago, it seemed like Ange was the messiah to much of the media. Often, his style of play (the new buzz word amongst pundits) being praised, Spurs now had an identity. Now, in his second season, the knives are coming out because it appears he might not be all that he was made out to be. He doesn't seem to be the most charismatic, especially when he loses (another issue ETH had), and so that might be a button the media will love to push going forward. Try and get an angry reaction, and get their headlines.

Slot has got off to a good start, and he has started at a much more settled side. Added advantage, I suppose, that Man City have dropped right off for a period. But, we'll get a better idea about Slot over the longer term, after he has had to endure some tough spells. Though, what will be interesting at Liverpool in the shorter term will probably be related to what happens to some of their key players and contracts, so there might be a touch less focus on the manager and a bit more focus on the Club and the decisions they make. It is hard to tell just how well Slot would have done had he gone to Spurs instead of Liverpool. He probably wouldn't be sitting 7 points clear in the Premier league right now, but would he be sitting better than where Spurs are now? Perhaps.

The media like to have one or two targets when throwing criticism at managers. Ange will probably get a lot of it right now, and maybe the West Ham manager as it is nice to have a storyline comparing Moyes to what they have now, and the whole "grass isn't always greener on the other side" type argument.

Who would you like to replace Ange? Anyone in mind?

I don't know. I'd have taken Potter over him, he seemed to have some tactical nous. But I don't know enough about world managers to comment, really. I never would have thought anything of Slot, or Amorim, or any of these guys who have only worked abroad really. Maybe we should try and poach Thomas Frank. Not Southgate though.
