But the fans didn't want a manager who can grind out wins and win European Trophies. They wanted a team who can play attacking football with 30 goal attempts and not bothered if they lost 3-1

Problem is you will struggle to find a fan that before his appointment went "I'd like j-lo to manage us"

Even when he signed everyone was a bit "meh"

Didn't think he would be this bad but so much talk of falling out with players

He wanted Rodriguez the club weren't sure. But backed him. Cost a lot in sign on fee and wages .. after Everton they had a big row and he has asked to leave in January

Todibo had a bust up with him after the arsenal game. Bowen had to break them up

He's humiliated 2 separate players in front the squad which didn't go down well

One bust up can happen but 2 or more?

I'd have Potter in a heartbeat. If he can give us what he did at Brighton, thank you very much.
Potter’s best finish in the PL with Brighton was 41 points both seasons finishing 15th & 16th!

Dyche managed 48 points last Season and yet you’d swap!

I’m genuinely confused by the Potter Hype!

21/22 - 9th place, 51 points

Started the following season well and left for Chelsea.

The football was infinitely better and you can see where he was trying to take the team. Can you see any progression under Dyche?

Fair one on the third season, thought he’d left for Chelsea during that year.

Was it really that much better? I’m not sure, I think the media built him up because he was English, rubbish st Chelsea, but all the blame seems to go on the Club, were he had far better players.🤷‍♂️

I think the quality of football was much better. He didn't spend much either, although to be fair you can not accuse Dyche of wildly splashing cash. I find us depressing to watch this year, it's throwback football and not very good throwback football either.

I think Chelsea were an absolute basket case when he was there. Never had a chance to develop a team, was given a hotch potch of players. Very good players but it was a mess.

His record prior to Brighton, at weaker leagues abroad or championship in fairness, was still very good.

Give him the current team, I'm sure he would improve the players he has and make us more watchable at the same time.

Dyche has a higher win ratio with us, than Potter had at Brighton…#justsayin 🤪

My lad just told me an interesting stat. Craig Dawson is Everton’s second top scorer this season.

Not bad for a Wolves player.

Think there is a very fine balance between fans that want to see good football and clubs needing to stay in the Prem

Everton and West Ham have had their battles over the years and at times have had “pragmatic” managers that got results and decent finishes in the Prem but the football wasn’t “easy on the eye”

They have both moved on from those type of managers to try and get the better football but each time the results haven’t happened and the fans then show their dissatisfaction said attractive manager goes and incomes pragmatic manager to steady the ship and do a good job again - it’s rinse repeat for years

Where as you have clubs like Brentford, Brighton ,Bournemouth and even Fulham ( who have one of those managers that Everton got rid of ) who seem to find the balance that Everton and West Ham have been searching decades for

2nd longest serving team in the top flight, more seasons in the top flight than any other team.

With no disrespect to the Teams you’ve listed, but I’d rather our record than theirs. 👍🏻

And you have been kept in the top flight by some very pragmatic managers who overall have prob given Everton their best finishes - Moyes , Silva , Martinez, etc

73 years we’ve been in the top flight, in that time we’ve seen it all, every Club success comes in waves.

Ok im not sure what that’s addressing really when looking at how some clubs go through managers regularly when trying to search for something
Circle of life mate, ups & down, saw my first game nearly 54 years ago and been through good and bad times, the good times will return.👍🏻
