If he came in at £20mil a bit younger then there is a remote chance that under less pressure he could develop without the huge price tag

But from his actions at times it seems he is another player where his arrogance far outweighs his ability
Develop? Into what? Not a footballer that's for sure. The fundamentals aren't there.

I do have a modicum of sympathy with him. Of all the things which are his fault, the ludicrous price tag is absolutely not one of them. We’ll never know if being the second most expensive player in the club’s history had an impact on everything which has followed.

But I agree, the fundamentals just don’t appear to be there. I cannot recall ever seeing a winger so ridiculously one footed, to the point he must be staggeringly easy to defend against at any level, and certainly at elite level. And even on the odd occasion I have seen him play on the left he has still been absolutely dreadful.

This one signing encapsulates everything which has been so horribly wrong with United’s recruitment policy for over a decade. The manager responsible for bringing him in has been sacked. Anyone involved in scouting him, or completing due diligence, should go the same way if they haven’t already. They clearly aren’t fit to be in post if they genuinely believed Antony was a Premier League player.

Personally, I'd have Antony on the pitch marginally ahead of Dan James, as I thought Dan James was awful. But, Dan James was overpriced at £15 million or whatever he was, so clearly Antony has been a significantly bigger flop.

In his 1st season, I was OK with some of the stuff he did. Tracking back, he moved into space well and occupied 2 or 3 defenders a lot. He was just ridiculously one dimensional from that position. Would have been an OK squad player if he cost £10 million, but we bought him at a price where we expected Ronaldinho, and we're seriously disappointed

The worst signing in PL history is Bakayoko at Chelsea IMO. £40m back in 2017 was a lot of money and he was that bad it looked like a fan was on the pitch. He flies under the radar as he was so bad, he was bombed out after one season and spent years being loaned without doing a single thing of note.

I believe it was a signing to get on the right side of Monaco and certain agents who had some emerging talents on the books like Lemar, Mbappe, B Silva, Fabinho, and B Mendy.
Pepe and Antony were terrible buys but you can see they've got some ability there.

Good win for Fulham.
Played very well but final ball was woeful.

Brentford just sat back ,but defended very well until the end.
Worldie of a save from Leno at the end.

Thought the LB Robinson was excellent looks like a good player.

I'm sure Robinson is the one that was on the verge of signing for Milan a few years back, fell through for some reason.
