So he’s a wing back, then. That’s precisely the point I am trying to make.

If you are playing a flat back four with traditional full backs then there are far better out there than TAA. Aaron Wan-Bissaka is a way better traditional full back than TAA will ever be.

He isn’t a wing back as well but he won’t be the player to bomb up and down the way they do - it’s more like the inverted fullback type player - someone who can drift wide and get the ball in but also drift inside to get on the ball and spread it around the park

Edit - I don’t think there is any team that is successful that now plays a flat back four

AWB as a defensive full back is rock solid but with the way the “wide forwards” play these days you need players that provide the width and overlap

As a pure right back, I don't think there are any better than AWB.
One of the best one on one full backs I've seen for many years.

Ironically now he is bombing forward for us. Been very impressed and even been filling in at left back when required.. don't even notice it's his weaker side been very solid

He has been asked to defend plenty of times and been successful doing that plenty of times

he is one of the best players in football at what he does and that will include defending - his stats are up there with the best and been shown that plenty of times

When you come up with statements like “one of the worst defenders in prem history for a top half team” just shows how ridiculous some are.

He is attack minded but he can defend , he isn’t blessed with walkers pace to be able to get back when teams do go on a quick break but that’s why his club team have fast CB’s to allow him and the other full backs to be high , at times he has lost his awareness being his left shoulder but right now he is part of the best defence in the league and been part of one of the best defences over the last 6/7 years.
You’re wasting your time.👍🏻

Going to watch the U21's on the telly tonight to see what talent is coming through....should be a tough game at home to Ukraine who are currently unbeaten in the group (and have already beaten England 3-2 in the reverse fixture a year ago). A few names in the line up I dont recognise

J. Trafford
L. Hall
J. Quansah
T. Harwood-Bellis (c)
J. Philogene
A. Gray
J. Hinshelwood
T. Morton
J. McAtee
L. Delap
O. Hutchinson

I simply gave my opinion, I stick by it.

Forest fined £750,000 over the VAR post last season after the match at Goodison.

The FA had sought a £1 million fine.😱

This bit made me laugh:

“Attwell gave a statement to the panel which described the "stress, distress, fear and embarrassment caused to him" as a result of the post.”

Pretty sure that stress, distress, fear and embarrassment go with the territory of being a Luton fan?!

Seriously though, the embarrassment should have been over his own appalling refereeing display - not the ramblings of our big, brilliant, pissed-off Greek owner!

Should be a good game what channel is it on ? - some great talent in the team
Was a good game....Ukraine generally defended well but England should still have had the ball in the onion bag before they lost their way a bit and Ukrained grabbed the lead. Couple of goals late on from McAtee, including a cracking free kick from the edge of the box, turned things around for England.

Liked the look of Delap up front...big unit but plenty of pace. I'm biased but Lewis Hall was by far and away the outstanding player on the pitch for me...defensively solid, quick to read danger and intercept balls, direct accurate passing to those ahead of him and linking play from back to front down the left hand side incessantly.

Unlike last night, the Under 21's played with a structure and a clear plan.

Whose academy has been most successful recently?
Not talking most profitable, but players that stop at the club.

Well never see the Man Utd class of ..
again imo.
Games changed too much.
Pep is a unbelievable manager, but Fergie won the title with kids.

Yes they just don’t seem to understand all this was caused by the officials very poor performance.

Out of Citys 28 man squad, 8 have come through from the academy.

Be interesting to see how that compares to other prem clubs.
