Been involved with England Youth in different roles since 2015, manager of U21’s since 2001 and has worked with Palmer, Gordon, Mainoo, Quansah, Branthwaite, Elliot, Jones and quite a few more.

Should certainly be considered when Southgate steps down.

Yep spot on - no issues at all , but you know for many his name won’t be glamorous

All this talk of systems.. you solve it one way you fit the system to the players you have or you pick the players to play your system… anything halfway between is going be found wanting in those key areas.

To do that on the international level is courting media disaster..
If you pick to play your system for sure you will not pick some big names.
If you have enough players to make a system feasible you may not have enough coverage for positions when the yellow cards and injuries start.
To play in between leads to constant opinions on Golf Forums and perish the thought fan favourites being heavily defended when their on pitch performance has been undeniably rubbish..

You’re absolutely correct, but those decisions should of been made in qualifiers and pre-tournament friendlies.

No matter how much we dislike Southgate and his tactics, he probably believes he has the right players and playing in the system he wants.

No matter how we judge him, somehow…or to his credit, he’s got England to a Semi-Final of a major tournament again.😵‍💫

Yep, this was one of his stupidest moves for me. Spent all of qualifying playing Phillips or Henderson next to Rice, and then they don't make the final squad and he's clueless on who to put there. They both should've been out of the picture well over a year ago and other players being trialled in that position - not trialling players in the group stage of the flipping tournament.

But didn't the forum sages say so at the time. If only he'd listened to us

Your referee for the semi final. Taylor payback?

The amount of German football fans who like him is limited. If you ask me, he shouldn’t even be allowed to clean the toilets in a sporting arena.
Expect a soft Dutch penalty and an English sending off. Didn't think we had a chance from a football perspective but this has made the task 3 times harder

Not so sure - VVD won’t mind Kane as he won’t be near the box and when he is his movement isn’t great , he wouldn’t want to face the pace and movement of Watkins or Toney

Kane hasn’t been a threat for multiple games now - hasn’t troubled many CBs

Kane is very good at winning penalties, it's probably what VVD and the Dutch defence are most worried about. This is a crucial asset in a tight match with few clear cut chances.

I say forget Lampard or Carsley, we just need a consortium of Golf Monthly forum members to be the next managers. It can't fail. Only problem is it takes us over a year to agree on anything. 😂
I suggest you take a look at the LIV or Electric car thread 😗 😂
