Well an entertaining game - fortunate to get away with the handball for the first , still not sure how they didn’t give it

But some superbly taken goals , front 3 clinical

TAA moving inside is interesting, works when he gets on the ball but leaves Konate exposed - not sure how that works going forward

I missed the football last night due to a works event, after reading some social media posts you'd think Trent has morphed into Kevin De Brunye after 1 performance.
Looking forward to tonights CL game, Chelsea need to respond from Saturdays poor result. They cant let Madrid coast through the game like they did in the 1st leg.

I can only see a Madrid win.

Leeds didn’t put any pressure on Trent, or anyone really. Measuring Liverpool’s performance against a poor Leeds side doesn’t reveal much.

TAA played well on the ball , some lovely balls and two very good assists, also got back in to support as well , it was certainly one of his better performances but not sure how it’s going to work in the future with him tucking in - left Konate a bit exposed at times

Exactly that, when we're dominating games he/the team looks good... but as soon as pressure its applied these days, it seems he/we crumble to a degree.

Interested in your take LP.... for me, I love Trent.... but I feel we need another good right back in sharpish as a long term replacement for him. I dont see his future now at right back.

For 5/6 years he was one of the best right backs in the world , this season has been poor for many reasons but they won’t be bringing in a right back. It’s more about getting the midfielders in to help cover and support when he does go forward.

Most modern right backs aren’t really right backs anyway - even until this season he spent most of his time over the halfway line anyway , that’s where he stay with some matches tucking in.

I don't think TAA's attacking attributes have ever really been questioned, so there will be games that he plays very well. Especially against teams like Leeds who have an absolutely shocking defensive performance.

Liverpool have been an intriguing side this season. They have shown that if the opposition put up a really weak defensive performance, they can still take full advantage and demolish them. However, when the opposition put in a solid display, and able to put Liverpool's defence under a bit of pressure, Liverpool look completely lost. I can potentially see a good run of fixtures for Liverpool to the end of the season now. Forest at Anfield could be another big win. West Ham away could be a big win, depends what West Ham turn up. Spurs at Anfield, even if Spurs do well, they'll probably be Spursy. Fulham and Brentford at Anfield, before going to Leicester, all very winable. Villa at Anfield will be interesting, especially if Villa are still flying high. Before finally going away to Southampton, who may well be relegated by then.

I can see Liverpool having a strong finish to the season. The competition for European places will be interesting, not just the top 4. Villa have had brilliant recent form, Brighton look excellent and well drilled, Liverpool could be gathering momentum and Spurs look like they are very much stuttering. It's a pity Brentford and Fulham have had such a poor run of results, as that would have made the battle for European places even more interesting. Mind you, what we lose out on there, we probably gain in other areas of the table.

No he wasn't. If he was, then surely he'd have solidified his position in the England side? At no point has he ever been very good defensively.

However, you probably somewhat contradict yourself in you final sentence, where you say most modern right backs aren't really right backs anyway. An acknowledgement that TAA is not really a right back. So, you can't say he is not really a right-back, then call him one of the best right-backs in the world.

No doubting his attacking attributes. Would he not be classed a better wing back than a full back, as a wing back tends to get more defensive support and have more license to go forward?

He is pretty much still a shoe in, even if he gets a season ending injury this week. Kane 9 goals behind him, and scoring 9 goals playing for Spurs will be a tough ask.
Totally agree! I was amending my post as you replied! Salah a distant 16th with less than half Haaland's tally!

Injury nothwithstanding, Haaland is a shoe-in (sic) for that! He's so far ahead, even an injury would likely not affect the result!

What you need to understand about Pinseeker is he is a troll and even more so when it comes to Liverpool , he apparently is a Chelsea fan but really only talks about Liverpool , it’s quite sad really and why most ignore him. He always looking to stir and get bites.
