Ha ha, I understand the sentiment. Both of us struggle to score so a 0-0 seems pretty likely and wouldn't be a bad result for you. There is a nice gap between you and 18th that should allow you to play with a little more freedom right now.

a draw would be acceptable. The results could have been a lot worse at the weekend and I wasn't expecting us to get anything from Fulham (even more so once we lost both starting CBs after 7 minutes!) or City this weekend - both free hits really and hope that the results around us are favourable...West Ham and Everton are massive games though.

I hope we start to play a bit more aggressive away from home (in the same way we do at home) to give it a go - but I think we're setting ourselves up to try and nick a point away from home for the most part.

Hopefully City rest some players/Haaland is injured on Saturday....might come away with something.

Going to be a few interesting weeks coming up

We have Newcastle next which is a huge game for us to even give ourselves a chance to getting into top 4

The Madrid which is a huge game and then Palace

We then have a number of key home games

Got to build on last night

Tough run that considering your squad depth atm!

Make or break time of the season!

Three players returned from injury last night and others expected to return over the next couple of weeks should hopefully bring the depth back

Was good being able to bring on Firmino , Jota . Kieta , Elliot , Milner last night with the likes of VVD still on the bench

Its a shame you don't have Madrid in 3 weeks time!

Cant be seeing them win yet another CL... but also don't want PSG or City doing it :ROFLMAO:

He shouldn’t be allowed to wear the shirt. Just glad he’s off in the summer, he’s a total waste.

I'm not a gooner but really hoping Arsenal turn over City tomorrow night. Be good to see a different team win the PL for a change.

I think Southampton and Bournemouth look favourites for the drop. You only need to be better than one other imo. Plenty of games to go for someone to turn things around but that is how it looks to me.

Optimistically would agree with that. Everton *might* do enough now you've got Dyche in there now (and I fully expect you to do us at the City Ground, the bloke still has a Season ticket FFS!).

If Someone had said you'd be in 14th, 6 points above the relegation zone at this point in the season, I'd have bitten your hand off! We need (I think) around 14-16 points from 16 games...definitely doable, but we need to keep up our home form and nick a win or two away. Not guaranteed yet by any means.

I think you'll be alright to be honest.

Leeds, Everton and West ham are the 3 at risk for me - West Ham really shouldn't be either but something isn't clicking there

Yea, I'm quietly optimistic that we'll have enough to stay up. We've got 11+ (FFS!) players to come back from injury too - some of whom would 100% be in the starting lineup if fit.

Looking at the table it’s prob 3 from 6 teams

Wolves
West Ham
Leeds
Everton
Bournemouth
Southampton

Think most we expect Southampton and Bournemouth to be gone baring a miracle run

Wolves look like that have turned a corner , have a talented squad plus a top manager in , they have a little gap behind them now

West Ham have the experience both on the pitch and in the dug out but struggling to get goals

So it’s prob down to Leeds and Everton imo

Leeds seem to have a bit more on the pitch

Everton whilst having a new manager who is used to it , that squad is pretty poor , no one to score the goals if DCL

Everton imo are looking like the team to join Southampton and Bournemouth

This seems about right. It's all about scoring goals for these teams now. If any of them can find a goal scorer then they will stay up. Ings may click at West Ham so for me it is us or Leeds.

Ings isn't the player he was 3 seasons ago, they're in trouble for sure!

You can very quickly get sucked back into it. Last season Leeds were well clear then went on a run of poor results.

I was watching this article on BBC this morning.
Referee abuse: Hundreds tell of safety fears at grassroots level
Unless this issue is addressed at highest level, and the professional players are taught to respect the referee, then the situation will never improve.
I had work colleagues who were amateur football referees, and they said that the worst games they ever refereed where the junior games. More from the attitude of the parents on the side than the kids (although they copy what they see on telly).
Listening to one of the older referees, it seems like the governing bodies are trying to drive respect from the bottom up, but it needs to come from the top down. In reality, it needs to come at every level with zero tolerance for those who offend. Violence against an official cannot and must not be tolerated.
As someone who played and watches Rugby (both codes), I cannot understand why they can't take the model of how the players there respect the referee, and apply that to football. Sin binning for arguing with the referee, moving a ball 10 yards further to the goal for arguing, basically get the players to learn respect for the referee.
Nigel Owens was a master at managing the players.

Having coached and watched hundreds of youth football matches. I don’t think it’s kids copying what they see on TV. They are copying the behaviour of their coaches and parents.
