Seen very little of the game but sounds like Everton fully deserved all 3 points. The manager bounce is well and alive lol

Oh well, was fun while it lasted......................

There was an element of new manager bounce. But there’s no substitute for organisation, energy and playing for one another and your manager. It genuinely makes you wonder what was going on in that Everton dressing room under Lampard.

This all day. My lad was gobsmacked Chelsea could not beat Fulham last night but from what I saw Fulham looked very very organised with youth and energy.

Chelsea may have cash on the hip. But they strike me as a chaotically run football club. I really question what input Potter has had during the transfer window. I’ll hazard a guess not a lot.

All that money, and is Aubameyang still their only true striker?

Apparently Potter brought in a couple af transfer type guys with him as part of his set up. I wonder if they were used? Just feels like buying that amount of players is crazy. He has barely had time to evaluate what the strengths and weaknesses of the current squad were

It’s as I said the other day - rich man’s Forest. You cannot simply go out and monopolise the market without a plan. I really cannot see what Chelsea’s is, apart from spending huge sums of cash on largely unproven players. They make United’s purchase of Antony look shrewd.

It worked OK back in Abramovich's time. But, he was first of his kind, and it could blow a lot of teams away. Today, regardless of money spent, you can't really blow away City. You've still got Man Utd (who can spend at least). Arsenal playing well, and Liverpool until this season. Newcastle also lots of money, and other clubs can spend, just not wisely up to now maybe.

The other issue might be that, in Abramovich's time, other European leagues were very strong. Could get some exciting, established players. Today, they are relatively weak in comparison, so spending £80-100m on a player outside the PL is probably a bigger risk than 10 to 15 years ago.

In summary, I don't think it would be anywhere near as easy for a rich owner to replicate Abramovich. Planning would seem hugely important, to compete with half a dozen good sides.
