Any day soon, my gameplan often means I lay up...
Wouldn't do you a lot of good in matchplay would it???

That's an interesting way of looking at it. I don't know any other golfers that tee off looking to shoot 80-85 every round when they are capable of shooting 75 but each to their own I guess.I agree, my game plan will have the effect of changing my score distribution and therefore affect both ends of the bell curve.
In other words I won’t shoot really bad scores but I won’t shoot amazing ones either.

How do you hit a 217 yard par 3 in regulation when your driver tops out at 200..?
Or a 240 yarder?

I understand that if you can’t reach, and your max distance puts you in bunkers, water or deep rough, that you’d lay up short of them.Hows that different from just going for it and missing the green?
Can’t get my head around laying up on a Par 3

I know scary.I have absolutely no idea. How on earth would you remember that?? I can barely remember the courses and holes I started playing on let alone the first time I hit a green on a par 3.

Laying up on a 130yd par 3 could definitely be classed as conservative.Depends on the hole. I don’t understand the fuss tbh, it’s my golf game and I enjoy it. I think it’s well know I play conservative golf and I just made a bit of a jab at myself in my first post.

In fact, the word "conservative" was invented just for it
