How often do you guys get eagles?

I got my 3rd one yesterday at Linden Hall (Northumberland) at the 5th, a 381yd SI8. Managed to drive about 305 yards, then wedge in from around 75 yards for a cool 5 points! (which also helped my partner & I to win the first 9 with 24 points 4BBB). To top it off, managed to take the longest drive on the 16th by about 3 feet with approx 325 yds (must be hard fairways!). However a number of holes didn't go so well (5 doubles & a triple) so no handicap change!

PS It was the first eagle that I / my partners saw go in due to the contours of the holes previously!

Got my first ever eagle last week playing in Kent 479 par 5 edge of the green in 2 and sunk a 20 foot putt :) My home course is in Shetland where you you get very little run on the ball so it was great to play on courses and hitting a good drive it didnt plug at 200 yards :(

I get a few as we have some reachable par 5's. At my last course I had eagled 8 of the 18 holes - some many more than once. Nearest I got to an Albatross was a 15 inch eagle putt on a par 5.
Not getting as many as I used to as I'm still really getting used to the course - even after a year.

I use to get a few mainly at Wimbledon Common as the 3rd, 5th, 9th, 13th and 15th were all in range especially off the yellows. I've only had at the new course at Ascot (on the par 5 15th) and the only other one was on the Longest Day challenge last year when I holed out with a 7 iron

The first ever card I marked for an adult handicap when I was 17 or 18 was on a course with an opening par 5.

I hit a good drive, a 3 wood onto the green and holed a 20 foot putt for eagle.

The bloke I was playing with was an older guy who had never been off less than 16. He said to me, Bloody Hell, son, keep it up like that and they will make you turn pro, not give you a handicap!

I ended up with 83 or 84 that day.

I had one yesterday and missed another 2.
Drove to the edge of the 4th green (271) at Blankney and chipped in, and hit the 15th (523)and 18th (496) in 2 and missed both, all with my brand new irons (which are about 20 years old and probably the original grips )

Our course used to have an easy par 5 of 480yds or so until they changed and lengthened it a few years back.

I had one weekend where I played it 4 times over the weekend in 4 different comps, matchplay and medal, and eagled it all four times.

Now it's been lengthened to over 550yds and it is 2 healthy blows to get it on there. Only had one eagle since and that was as part of a greensomes partnership, my mate hit a lovely drive and i stiffed a 3wood for a tap in 3.

I Can only recall having one eagle and it was in a medal. The 9th hole at my course is reachable with a drive and a long iron. There's two more with one being reachable in 2 and the other is about 520 I think with water and OOB down it so it's usually a 3 shot hole

A good few over the years but none recently.

Eagled the 10th on the Old Course 4 years ago, remember that one!

Had a few over the years. Even made an eagle before a birdie then hadn't had one for about 6-7 years until I holed a 9 iron on a par 4 the other day. It was a proper shot too, all over the flag, one bounce and in.

I have only ever had one on the par 5 18th Pine Ridge but it was in the winter off very forward tees. I think I hit 7-iron for my second shot so I don't really count it. I've had 3 or 4 decent chances in the last couple of months but failed to make the putts.

Eagle? What's that? I'm still looking for one of those birdie things ;). Just hitting a GIR is an achievement let alone stroking in a 20 foot putt for 4/5 points. Actually that's an interesting question. If I birdied our 1st or 18th which are stroke index 5 and 9 does that count as 0 shots and if by some miracle I aced it would that be -1 and 6 points?

I think ive only had a few, was centimeters from one yesterday. Our 8th is a 270 par 4, i drove a green side bunker and played out, ball rolled past hole by a hairs width and stopped inches past for the birdie.

Never had one but our par 5's no-one can reach the green in 2 so it would have to be a good off the green shot to get one, maybe one day it will find it's way to the hole though :)

Think I've had 3 ever.

The first was a hole in one (3 iron into a down hill 210 yeard hole). Didnt even see it drop, but a playing partner off the red's watched it.

2nd was a holed 9 iron that was straight at it and dropped after the second bounce. Got to enjoy that one.

3rd was another holed 9 iron, this time played into a area of the green that gathered in towards the cup, so much luckier i suppose (as if they aren't all lucky from these distances..!! )

Not made a really conventional one on a par 5 yet, I dont often got on in 2 though.
