VED was for Road Tax never mentioned air.

Most of it is spent elsewhere.
If the tax motorist pay was used on the roads they would be like billiard tables .

It's just another tax, has nothing to do with road.

Need to fill that gap somehow and EVs etc are using those roads

It was just a bribe to sell EV cars.
It’s happening again soon the gov are reintroducing incentives??? Tax payers money!

It’s a tax but a green tax , as you say they are using the roads so should pay for the upkeep.

Well the VED just goes directly into the government coffers - it’s not going directly to Department of Transport to fund any road repairs etc

I'll point you to the 16 years of emissions based ved and all the zero rated cars under that. Funny how it's only EVs get mentioned though .

Yep been a big hole for years and at some point they were going to have to find a way to bring that money back in

I am following with great intrest the government’s announcement that there will be financial incentives to Buy electric. At the moment they are well out of my range.
Ave mentioned this to Missis Tash and she has hardly talked to me for two days. I wish I had mentioned it last week

Not really it's more the poor maintenance, just chucking in a dollop of tarmac as opposed to a proper repair

Haven’t seen many if any EV ice cream vans - guess the battery is the issue having to keep freezers and ice cream machines going
