Right my 10 year old has now started to notice girls, so it is time for that chat as no doubt his hormones will start playing up soon.

This will be the first one I have done, so what sort of thing do I say ? How much detail ?

I learned most of mine from Razzle and readers wife , so I may not be much help 😀😀

Really mine is 10 and I dont think he knows what girls are, a Gap Wedge or Lob Wedge no problems but a lob on, no idea i reckon.

Just tell him you asked your Dad [ his granddad] lot of questions about girls when you were his age. So if he wants to talk/ask you about anything !!! anytime !!! no problem.
But as said previously you'll be surprised what he'll knows already from school and internet.

I thought they started on that subject during the last year of juniors now?...I know both my daughters touched on the subject at juniors.
How to start it, I cannot say but what we did do was answer any question they asked honestly and without deflection.
Also, watching "Kevin and Perry Go Large" with each of them as they each made early teens helped them to ask questions, as well as appreciate parents aspects too

10, Blimey. The school will cover most things, they are bloomin good at it as well to be fair. I started my chat probably at about 13-14 but he quickly told me he had covered it all. No girls on the scene before then so we had it easy. 10 seems very early doors.

I had a serious chat with him at 16 when it was the night of his school prom. Sly drinks, everyone dressed up, hormones going. You ARE going to listen to this talk matey. Got past the embarrassment quickly when the option of being a grandad early was the alternative. No knock on the door since so my talk must have been effective 😁.

There are lots of good books on sex education which relate to different age groups and other subjects such as stranger danger. Why don't you ask his teachers if they can reccomend one they use.
