Texas Scramble - worst comp ever!!

parmo, given that at many clubs you won't get winter qualifiers why not play T/S?

We and I do play them but week after week of team games does wear thin.

I played in a two day corporate event at Breadsall Priory a few years ago. First day was an individual Stableford, second day there was a Texas Scramble arranged. So that the "better" players wouldn't be held up, the organiser of the event put all the high handicappers out in the final group. I think three of them had never played golf before, and had just come along for the beer....
As we were coming up about the 6th or 7th fairway we watched the final group playing the first hole. They were all dropping their balls right at the base of a bush where the only shot left to them was to chip out sideways.
God knows where the three worst drives had gone....

I always enjoy playing a T/S you get to hit a variety of shots from different parts of the course and the craic is always top notch.
