Does anyone else have any strange habits or weird behaviours? To give you an example of the sort of thing I mean here are a couple of mine.....

Anything in the house or car that shows a value, such as TV volume, heating temp, radio volume etc, has to be set to an even number. So the heating can be set to 20°C or 22°C but not 21. The volume on the car stereo is always set to 6 or 8. It's one of the first things I check before driving off to make sure that the kids or Mrs Colch haven't changed it to an odd number.

When eating peanuts I pour them out onto a plate and separate the whole peanuts from the half peanuts. I then eat the half peanuts first followed by the whole ones.

Some very similar to yours - don't like odd numbers at all.

My weirdest need for symmetry is a need to divide a phrase or sentence I've heard into groups of equal number letters. So when I hear something I start to go through it in my head. Not always but usually if it's the last thing I've heard and then it's quiet.

Just heard on the footie "he opens up, he needs to score" and even though I'm typing I start mentally dividing by two "he op en su p, he ne ed st os co re". Result. If that didn't work I'd divide by 3 and so on, eventually counting the letters to check if they are divisible. I used the comma there but usually only count apostrophes as they're part of the sentence. Having typed it though I had to use it.

A friend once said I'd have been drowned as a witch if I confessed to that in the dark ages :)

Yep, I am an even number person too.

Exactly the same as you with peanuts and odd numbers, although I sometimes try to fight it by deliberately putting whichever dial to an odd number - I usually last about 30 seconds before I have to knock it up or down 1.
I grew out of it, but as a kid I would occasionally feel like I might have over-rotated clockwise or anti-clockwise. I would "unwind" myself to restore the balance.
When I'm concentrating hard - and it could be anything from complex maths to peeling a potato - I often notice that I'm leaning my head about 45° to the side.
I could make quite a long list. We're all odd in our own little ways - I just have more than most, I think.

Same as you with even numbers on the TV etc - although 15/25/35 would also be okay for me. No idea why?

My weirdest is when brushing my teeth. I simply cannot stand at the sink. I always go wandering around for no apparent reason and with no objective in mind. When I do end up back at the sink, I end up turning the tap on and off again about 3 or 4 times before I actually need to use it. Again, no idea why, just an uncontrollable compulsion. ?‍♂️

When doing something mundane like the washing up or taking a shower, many people sing to themselves.
Most people sing a couple of lines only, because that is all they remember.
I know all the words to loads of songs and sing them all the way through from start to finish. I'm not normal in this respect.
I've never sung in public and I can not read sheet music or play any instrument.
Sometimes, if a song comes to my mind that I used to know, I will go through it silently in my head until I get all the words memorised again.

My strange habit is when slicing my banana over my cornflakes I always count the slices in my head as I go. A large one makes about 30 and a smaller one between 15 and 20!
Strange!

Strange!

Me too. Always at least 20 slices I have observed. I always count pointless stuff like this for no reason.

Turn the microwave on and start counting down the seconds in my head while doing other things. Get a tad annoyed if I'm more than a few seconds out
