stag night/sporting occasion

I know this is a regular request on here, but this is with a slight twist.

One of the lads is having a staggy next year (probably 3 nights away only) in the Uk, guessing within 4 hours of Liverpool (but not strictly). Now I know I always recommend Liverpool myself, but that's obviously a non-starter.

He would like to include a sporting occasion for the non golfers also and we dont have to stay in the same town/city as the sporting event, but probably within an hour or so.

It's probably going to happen in March, possibly April, May at the very outside.
Suggestions so far have been:-

Cheltenham gold cup / celtic manor, or other S. Wales golf clubs

6 nations Wales game / same golf as above

6 nations France game / le golf national

I doubt he will do a 6 nations game in Edinburgh, as his first staggy was there, this is his second marriage.

I would fancy a weekend in Belfast / Portrush, but can't think of a good sporting occasion.

Any others to consider, possibly a bit too early for the Cricket, world beach volleyball c'ships may be too cold.

Any suggestions, night out also has to be good, but as were all early 40's so doesn't have to be mad.

Personally, already been to Barca 3 times with Liverpool, so nothing new. Cost of taking clubs on ryanair/easyjet is now about £30 each waynow, isn't it?
