I'd design whatever suited the land I was building the course upon.

To take feature or signiture holes from courses around the world without fluidity from one hole to the next can be a jaring experience.

There is nothing worse in my mind than a disjointed mish mash, of trying to combine wildly varying styles of holes within a course, or features not suited to the landscape they appear in.
