So, was Tiger worth the money?

the commentators mentioned Tiger woods normally plays a Mitsubishi tournament the same time as Dubai is played ,,,so they payed him 3 million dollars appearance money to get him there

he's the Mike Tyson of the golf world is face just as to be there, that brings in the crowds all spending money

Yes, imo the tournament was better with Tiger in contention. Although, I think if he had have to have hit driver off the tee's more he wouldnt have been.

I also think Tiger wants to be the best in the world again, and that involves playing with and against the best, the most of which were in Abu Dhabi.

Was Tiger worth the money...NO.. it should have gone to the man who wins the golf tournament.Good showing but he still cant put four good rounds together so a major this year is in doubt....

Was Tiger worth the money? My Sky Sports subscription - yes. Whatever the sponsors want to pay him to be there - couldn't give a damn, not my money.

yes and i bet revenue was up because he was there, the crowds were the biggest they had been and i bet the viewing figures were the highest aswell.

i made a point of watching because he was playing and i'm sure there were many others like that.

I love this attitude towards Tiger. Rory didn't put 4 good rounds together, neither did Luke, or Kaymer, McDowell, Paddy, Westwood or any of the worlds other top players yet Tiger is the one who won't win because he shot level par in the last round following 3 days of flawless golf.

Like him or not he's again competing with the best in the world, he might not have won but neither did anyone else except Rock

Anybody who has competed in sport at the top level at some time or other suffers a dip in form either through injury, personal reasons or just a poor run of form.

As soon as this happens especially if you're high profile competitor people start to write you off and the critics come out to play.

The true greats who still have it in them nearly always bounce back. Tigerbar injury will be around for a long time to come and I wouldn't be surprised to see him take another major this year.

It's been a fantastic competition and Robert Rock couldn't hope for a better start to his season and thoroughly deserves his win.

Rory McIlroy will be kicking himself as his rule infringement very likely cost him the event, however he' still learning and has an immense future ahead of him.

I`m not a Tiger "knocker" here and ive praised he`s efforts in threads here in the past but I dont want to see that Tiger domination in world golf, wheres the fun in that? Please lets not get in a situation where the best players just let Woods go again and play for second place especially as the have the chance now to really stop he`s domination......

Wot he said

I think for Woods it will have been classed as a successful venture. He came and beat the top 4 in the world ranking and although he'll be disappointed not to get the job done he finished top three and didn't fall apart under pressure on the last day. It shows the swing is starting to work and he's fit again.

It has to be have better to have played in this event than the Farmers at Torrey Pines with a rather weak field. It seemed he was more relaxed and spent more time talking to the press and giving autographs so perhaps this heralds a new chapter in the Wood golfing journey. I think a good weeks work irrespective of the money

Only just read that Tiger has admitted this week that the appearance money had an effect on his decision to play the event. Surprised me a touch.

That said I'm pretty sure he'd trade the cash for the trophy.

I think he is pretty keen to prove he is still the man to beat rather than Donald, Rory or Westwood and will take any chance he can get to take them on and beat them.

thought it would have been more tbh, good to see rock winning even though i'm a big rory fan. rock must be the only player on tour not to be wearing a (sponsored) cap
