H'mm.

Might really apply to the long game, but chipping practice - even with the wrong technique - is always helpful! Better with better technique, but getting the feel of the shot is 80% of that part of the game! Same really applies to Putting imo.

agreed. an hour on the chipping green is never a waste of an hour. I doubt anyone has ever come away from practice a worse chipper than when they started.

Indeed.

I assumed that HJS would be too modest to be able to start his own thread on the subject, and as he is well known for not wanting to threadjack someone else's, that hawkeye had just done the decent thing....

It all helps Hawkeye.....

As i type this iv taken a break from knocking sponge balls into the curtains in my living room off a tight mat with a 60 degree wedge.

If i can hit these balls off a tight lie here then come the summer hard pan will be a walk in the park..

Its all money in the bank...

I gave up with the sponge balls after about 5 minutes, there is just no point in them at all.

Well i will grant you the feel takes a little getting used to but i know if im blading them or if im thinning them by where they hit the curtains....
My main concern is catching them clean..
