The only issue I've found with the smart meter is that the in house display isn't accurate for the value of energy we're using. The other day it said we had used £14.00 approx during the day but it turns out that the unit price of the gas was set at 10.5p and on our tracker tariff we were being charged 5.7p so our actual total cost was a lot lower than the display showed. Electric was the same situation but with a smaller difference between the two unit costs.

Your energy company needs to update your tariff on it
I don't have an IHD but have the bright app where I can see usage in £ or kWh
My electric rate is uploaded as standard as they don't work with the smart tariffs but they simply report the time use back to octopus who charge me the correct amount

Don’t Centrica collect the Smart meter data? Safe to assume any half decent hacker can get hold of the information… maybe even turn off the supply?
