Ahhh....maybe I should start a thread about the 5 most horrible car choices....and 5 best?

Not planning on going electric at this point. I really am pretty lazy with car buying. I am a good candidate for an electric though.....about 4000 miles a year, rarely further away from Harrogate than 15 miles. This car will be my last biggish car....still smaller than the Suzuki Vitara we got rid of last spring. At the point I get rid of this car....whether it's a lease or purchase....I'll be 70+ and will likely go back to something smaller. If they have the electric stuff improved by then I could see something like the new Inster. I don't know that many people, but I've still heard too many people have to wait quite a while to get their electric cars fixed.

If you can afford and can go electric I fully recommend it. My parents going to their first EV at the weekend, I'm full EV in both the cars at ours

The trade off for long repairs is that they have much less moving parts so less to go wrong. The repairs issue is being addressed anyways

My parents example they bought a 1 year old niro that comes with 7 year warranty (approved used gets 7 years from moment you drive off) it's top of range like mine so heated steering wheel, heated seats front and back. Ventilated seats front. Power tailgate . All things that will assist my mum now she's pushing 70. The car was 31k

Now I found them a cheaper one (25k 2 year old with 15k miles) but they wanted the almost brand new one (1k miles)

If you drive not far they just make driving so simple..plug in before bed wake up to full and repeat. Never go petrol station again

Also the servicing is cheaper and less frequent. Mine is every 20k miles or 2 years

My friend bought a new Vauxhall Moka petrol, it's been in the garage for 3 months with the engine stripped

To be fair bob the longest my awful Corsa was in the garage was 3 months waiting for an abs wiring loom which was a non EV issue

The only EV issue it had yes the part took ages but it was drivable so I had it until the part arrived

Got to be worth looking at a Dacia Duster, hasn't it?
Happened to be at a Dacia Renault dealer a couple of weeks ago and they had the brand new one in the car park - just delivered. Looked really nice. I'm very keen to have a test drive and I'm not even in the market for a new car right now.

My wife has just upgraded her series 1 kaptur to the newer series 2. The newer series 2 is a much better car with the s1 quirks addressed. Definitely worth a look and if you look hard enough then some new 24 stock kicking about around £20k as they’ve just launched the series 3.

The Renault dealer gave her a duster for a few days, it was the top spec model and was a dreadful car!
