Niether connected but both happened today in our over 50's masters mixed open.

Played with HID and two other guys, the one ( Kevin ) who was very deliberate in his PSR. We'd lost about half a hole on 8 so was going to say on 9th tee that we needed to step it up a bit but having holed out the other guy announced that he couldn't go on with Kevin as " You are the most appaling slow palyer I've ever played with and I'm not going to waste any more of my time " and then legged it !!
Kevin did speed up somewhat after this , so guess moral of the story is let them know.

Second part, whilst doing the cards for the comp a visting 16 handicapper carded a 27 on our par 3 third 160 yds and 17 on the sixth par 3 150 yds, no water and no OB anywhere near, most bizarre . It all added up correctly so wasn't mis written

The rest of his round was consistent to what a 16 would score, guess it's gonna be one of lifes mysteries how he racked such high numbers .

27 on a par 3 with no trouble. I can't even begin to imagine how that could happen.

I shot a 9 on a similar par 3 a few weeks back and thought that was bad.

I think it's pretty bad to walk off complaining about slow play without first having given the slowcoach a yellow card and suggested he get a move on. Give him a chance to speed yp

Maybe he fell asleep and was given 12 2-stroke penalties from slow play, then made a par. Narcoleptic golfer perhaps.
