Evening,

apart from one being newer, what is the diff between the Aire and Aire11.

Also anyone got one ? What are you views please.

Not fussed if people agree/dont agree with subscription

Thanks

Midnight...

I have just bought the aire 2 with subs, I had/ have a bushnell watch, but it was always in the back of my mind the yardages where a bit off (no proof). I bought the aire 2 to get just more than f c b, I have only used it on my home course so have had no real use of the extra features, but I do trust the yardages a bit more, again no proof just a preception. The aire 2 itself subs or no subs seems pretty good and does the job I bought it for

From what I understood from my research when looking recently, the Aire and Aire II are the same without subscriptions. With a subscription the Aire II adds hazards and other functions. I could be wrong but that is the impression I got. With that in mind, the Aire II would have been a nearly £150 GPS and at that money I would have gone for a Golfbuddy WT5. It was more than I wanted to spend so went for the £100 Bushnell Neo Ghost (see review section) and yardages so far match with playing partners Garmin SG2 and Skycaddie 2.5

I pretty sure you can't upgrade the Aire, so the basic Aire is simply what you see is what you get, but the Aire ll you have the choice to upgrade it to get all extra features that are built in by taking on the subscription.

Yes you can obviously trust the yardages more with a Skycaddie GPS as we are the only company that physically walk courses and more importantly re-walk them when changes have been made, but that's not the only criteria, a lot of courses this year have changed their order of play, now no other company can change that immediately as we can, that's because we are in total control where as every other GPS brand isn't and relies on third party companies to update their imagery which could take years! For me then even with my company glasses off, what's the point of buying or taking out a GPS device that's out of date from day 1?

If your course makes changes by adding hazards we will come and walk those holes and update them ASAP, again no other brand can promise that or even do it themselves!
