Watch Sky mainly for sport, do not have films.

Have just bought a new TV LG OLED 55C.

Realise you never win with Sky and there seems 2 types of Sky Q.

We only have one TV so do not need miltiroom.

My question is: Is Sky Q is worth an extra £12 per month and how good is it?

Can we return to our original system or are we stuck with this box for life?

Thanks for any help

Have had SkyQ since it first dropped. I like it, much better than the original system, the UI is more intuitive, series links come back automatically when programs return for a new series. Can copy recordings onto ipad to take on hols, or watch from ipad upstairs if needed. Have a whole lot more stuff stashed too, with no sign of filling it up.

Go down the I'm leaving route and they may do the upgrade for same fee.

Love my Sky Q.
On a side note, after a recent software update it seems the 'Sky Q' section of programs has been re-named 'Home'.
Is this right of have I screwed up the settings?

I have Sky Q and it's hugely better than the old box. Sky only loan the box now and if you cancel they take it back. If you haven't, I'd ring and go hell for leather the cheapest deal I could get to include the Q box ( I currently pay £40 per month for the full monty)

Nope - received an email from them the other week telling us about this, and the new features added to Home, including Spotify and other bits

I have the full sky package, Q, two boxes and internet and only pay £72 a month. So sure a deal can be made.

Re the £12 extra, if you currently pay £5 for sky go, that gets wiped off and the sky q app is free. Effectively making it only £7 extra.

Did not realise you pay £5 extra for Sky Go. Thought this was included

It is included. Sky go Extra is £5, which allows downloading and watching on the go, which is included with sky q.

As others have said, there are deals to be had. I pay £84 for all channels, q, unlimited fibre broadband, sky talk and line rental. Also got a £25 account credit and no installation cost / fee for the box.

The undiscounted cost would be more like £120 odd.
