Sky Caddie sync problem

I cant get sky caddie to sync. Its just saying waiting to sync and nothing is happening. I remember reading here that adobe can cause problems so I have uninstalled adobe but still no good.

Any other tips,

I was going to say the same, I had a problem with mine and it was a dodgy cable.

I've the SC5 too. I didn't have any software updates waiting to download either.

Got a bit further with it than before. Will give it back to the father in law and wait and see!!!

Where do you get a change of cable?

I have a similar problem which clears if I redownload and install the caddisync software each time. A pain but it works.

I had the same problem after the last software update. I plugged my Skycaddie in without opening Caddysync and let the new found hardware wizard run and install latest drivers.

Been ok since then.

I have recently ended up having major trouble with mine which resulted in me having to send it back and they sent me a replacement. I am using the 2.5

It worked the once after I received it as I registered it. I'm going to try sync it again tonight to download Scotscraig.

As others have said and what skycaddie will ask is re cable, software, firewalls, etc. Might be worth registering for their remote support as they may be able to pick up on a reason from your PC or it could be the device has just failed?

Hope you get it sorted - its very frustrating waiting on the odd hope it will connect when deep down really, you know it's going to fail to connect.

Where do you get a change of cable?

The genuine ones are expensive. I've got a data cable from an old Motorola V3 Razr phone and it works just as well - I use the car charger too. You can pick them up for a couple of quid on't Interwebby-thingy.....

Supplied with MP3 player, digital camera, etc, etc.

SC recommend you only use the cable that they supply but, if that fails, try one of the others - as far as I'm aware they are all similar.

Can't say that I've really had a problem with mine - apart from when using a dodgy cable (not a S/C one)

I don't use the standard cable but it's not been a problem.
I leave a cable connected to the pc which I use to connect a number of things with a similar connector.

The cable for my tomtom is the same as the skycaddy one.
