It was the first board event of the year today, I went confidently to the first tee, topped my tee shot, hit a pitch through the green fluffed a chip then took 4 from the fringe for a quadruple bogey 7!! Settled down and had 6 pars although a few poor holes kept knocking me back and arrived at the par 3 18th in reasonable shape and promptly took 6. I finished with a net 75, in the buffer and 4 behind the winner.

I really played some nice stuff, I nailed a couple of 3 woods to hit greens from 170yds out and another finshed pin high but in a greenside bunker. but the first and last in particular ruined the round. Annoyingly I had really worked on my irons off the tee last week and I thought I had got it sorted, but sadly not.

Same boat. Same old for me. Get some parts working a treat particularly the driver and A SHORT GAME and now I am in danger of shanking every iron. It's is killing me. Played a match yesterday and drove it great but so many irons coming up right and short and feeling off the heel. Didn't hit a full blown righter but flirted with it

Louise- do you play against men or was this a women's only comp?

Good to hear you're confident with your game. That's quite a big goal for 2013!!!

Mind you, I'm aiming to go from 28 to 18.....
