Last night I was very very I'll and I must say I had forgotten how painful being sick was as I have not been I'll for years,I knew it was coming though you just get that feeling.Luckily enough I'm virtually T total and only have a drink if socializing. Has anyone else been poorly lately after going so long without.You can't beat a nice positive thread for the winter ahead.

I've not been ill for a while,so I'm due 😒.

felt a bit rough the other day. Went to Manchester on business, went out after, had about 12 pints of Guinness and bottle of wine as well as a couple of G&Ts rolled back to the hotel at 4.30, up at 6 to get the flight back.... felt a bit rough all day.... had a couple of glasses of wine with dinner, was right as rain again

Sickness, I had a bug the other week, my daughter and son in law had it, they lost weight like you have never seen. Anyway I was as right as rain then had to rush to the toilet, no warning, nowt. Lordy flippin Lordy, within a day and a half I had lost 8lbs. I have never felt so drained in all my life. I dare not fart for a week. The bottom never fell out of my world, the world had fell out of my bottom. Worst part is, I have put the 8lbs back on

There is a sickness bug doing the rounds atm. Couple of friends got taken down by it at the weekend. A 4 of the family very ill for a few days.

Last time I was that ill was food poisoning, something I don't wish on anyone.

Funny seeing this thread.

Not had a single illness all of 2016, then woke up this morning with a slightly sore throat.

This has got worse throughout the day and now I feel like crap...gutted.

Maybe 25 years ago I could have managed it. That lot would have hospitalized me these days!

I wouldn't wish norovirus on anyone. I thought I'd had some pretty dodgy stomach upsets in the past but then I got norovirus for the first time a couple of years ago and it was horrific. Especially bad if the whole family has it simultaneously and it is near impossible to avoid that happening.

It felt like I was some sort of a special effect in a John Carpenter film; uncontrollably spewing fluid in all directions and screaming "hhhhhhnnnnnn ggggnnnnnwwwwweeeeeuuuurrrrgggggggghhhhhhhhhh thrrrrsssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssspppp ppp ppppppppppsssssssssssssssssssssssssswwweeuuurrrrrrrrgghhhhhhhh!" from both ends for what feels like hours at a time.

I lost 7lbs in weight/fluid in 12 hours. I used to write it off as an exaggeration from people talking about it but, blimey, I know what the fuss is about now and it's not nice at all.

When I worked I was always picking up bugs, used to have at least a couple of colds every year and sometimes worse. Since I retired 5 years ago I have been pretty much bug free.

I hope posting this hasn't jinxed things.
