I have played 2 full rounds of golf with my Cobra Amps (awesome by the way) but just noticed that on the back of the 4 iron the paint on the orange part has scratched up quite badly in one particular part, obviously from where the clubs have been knocking together in the bag....should I send it back? See picture

even if you do, it'll still look like that in 7-8 rounds anyway, and you won't be so bothered as you'll have bought something else....

stick with it if it works ok still

Not sure you'll get any compensation, as Chris pointed out, it's not the fault of the manufacturer, paint chips are a given unfortunately. If you do get replacements or whatever (stranger things have happened, doesn't hurt to ask) get some head covers if you're worried about it happening again.

I'll be getting some covers for sure. I like to keep new things nice, bit hacked off that it's scratched so badly so quickly, they're only a week old!

Hmmn. How old are my X-18s?

Do I use iron covers? Do they have marks like this? No..

Bad luck, I think you're going to need covers. Shame though.... :(

They will mark up/scratch etc but i think you are right, if they mark this quickly then in 6-8 months time there will be no orange left at all, that is not right.

I would get them checked out, you shouldnt need Iron covers.

They are ony new until you play with them once. It's like new cars - I goit one last week in the rain and it is secondhand straight away

Exactly my thoughts, and this is quite a bad scratch as well, I have just tried to align the 5 iron with the back of the 4 iron and it's even difficult to push the two clubs together and make enough contact to scratch the club that badly.

I would be very upset with that after 2 rounds, my Mizunos rattling around in my bag for 2 years and havent got anything like that.

Seems a common problem with newer clubs has been a lot of debate previously about black faced clubs marking up and scratching after a round or two disappointing when you've just shelled out loads of hard earned!

I understand your frustration but surely it will be viewed as general wear and tear. AG might be sympathetic but even with iron covers they will get dings on them through usage. No harm asking although I wouldn't be optimistic

It's probably down to the colour. The bright paint scratches and draws your eye to it more than, say, a blue finish would.
Sadly it will fall under general wear and tear regardless of how old they are and this is the risk you run for "bling" I'm afraid.
